Joelinton - £40m
Willock - £26m
Almiron - £21m
Saint-Maximin - £16m
Lewis - £15m
Wilson - £20m
Muto - £10m

They're all in the last 3 years, it isn't exactly like they've spent a pittance like Burnley. They've bought a fair old number of players in the £5m bracket too, who in the main, have been poor.

Seeing what Almiron has become there makes me very sad.

The piracy issue may have gone away. The human rights issue regarding fit and proper hasn’t.

Plus this fell through 18 months ago and the Saudis are now sniffing around Inter. No guarantee Newcastle fans get their morally bankrupt dream.

Human rights and China aren't exactly natural bedfellows. It'll go through now. It's only BeIN the PL were worried about

Barcelona accounts submitted.

£409m loss for the year.

Ouch. They are fucked.

The Newcastle deal will go through however the spending will be more like ours as opposed to Man City according to the times.

Pretty much means tho 10-11 clubs in PL will be able to spend big if they really need to.

Just heard on the radio that a Brighton player has been arrested for “sexual assault”.

All that Everton player stuff from a couple of months back has gone quiet hasn’t it?

One national paper published a photo of said player in cuffs apparently. Knowing who it is (and I am not typing the name) Brighton have a serious question mark over a big asset.

Not that we have many nightclubs in Wolverhampton, but it’s refreshing to think we don’t have many players who you’d expect to be out parting in the earlier hours anymore.

The Geordies on my social media feeds are unbearable this morning...

I can imagine.

Willingly being a sportswash for the most despotic regime this side of the taliban just to get a few shiny pots.

The Brighton And Hove local paper have sold him down the river too

Clubs don't generally go from shite to brilliant overnight when they get taken over.

There are nearly three months until the transfer window opens and Newcastle's squad is dreadful. Even if they got rid of the worst manager in the league (which should be the very first thing they do), no-one is doing that much with those players and the upcoming fixtures.

Then you look at historical precedents. Our first year under Fosun was no good, we got managerial appointments wrong, the signings were very hit and miss, we looked like going down to League One at one point. Man City spent their first year or so with Hughes as manager, signing the likes of Bridge, Adebayor and Robinho at stupid cost with limited success (think they finished 9th or something). Chelsea were already in the Champions League when Abramovich took over, wasn't like they were no hopers. They were already a successful team.

FFP is still a factor, even if our club like to lie about it for reasons best known to themselves. Can't just go out and spend £400m overnight.

They'll have more on field success than they have had under Ashley and presumably won't have an owner who holds the fans and club in sheer contempt, but it'll take a long time and there will be limits as to how far they can go.

It took Manchester City four years to really get going and they started from a stronger base as their squad had improved a bit under Thaksin. But they also threw a lot of money at mediocre players so it took a while for traction to be secured. And they had less to worry about regarding FFP.

However, this lot are worth £320 billion. It will work eventually, probably in about six or seven years if they progress. You can have all the money in the world but you simply aren’t getting Mbappe and Haaland pitching up at a club with no champions league. That will be the key, the season they progress enough to be back in Europe.

Once it does work, and it will, the top three spots will be tied up by Newcastle, City and Chelsea. Klopp isn’t going to be at Liverpool forever, and United even with their large incomes are going to struggle to compete. That’s going to be your top five every season.

That leaves Spurs, Leicester, Arsenal, Everton, West Ham and maybe ourselves and Villa fighting for possibly a Europa League or conference league spot.

As a plus point, I don’t think Bruce will last the week if it goes through.

Yep at best they’ll be on a par with Villa in a few seasons, reality is simple top players will still fancy Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Liverpool and probably Spurs and Arsenal before looking at Newcastle.

Yep big worry for the likes of Spurs and Arsenal only advantage they’ll have on players is location.
Expect Newcastle to spend enough in January to stay up and then gradually progress.
One thing is for sure their fans are going to be unbearable with sense of self entitlement.

Premier League have approved the Newcastle deal so let the sportswash commence. I expect Aramco sponsorship of the ground and Saudia on the shirts within days. This lot will pay Funbet money to fuck off sharpish.
