The Graham Taylor England documentary is on Channel 4 tonight at 11.10pm. Still essential viewing even now.

I'm a metre, I'm a metre.

Facking Paul

And just watch Nigel Clough as he tries (and fails) to understand his instructions when coming on as sub.

Preceded by “Breastfeeding My Boyfriend” Where do they come up with these programs?!

A mate said to me a couple of weeks ago "stick E4 on, now". Knowing what a fan I am of criminally awful TV shows.

Was a show where two couples had to strip naked in the middle of nowhere then trek 50 miles across Yorkshire to the nearest town.

I'll be honest, I was struggling to the see the merit in it.

Anyone watching that will see why he was a ridiculous appointment for Wolves at the time. Seen as a joke nationally, not wanted by the fans because of that. It was always a matter of time before he was turned on, although presiding over a side that would have got relegated and trying to sell a club icon will do that. So much bullshit revisionism about his departure

As an aside Rob Shepherd who's the journalist he has a go at subsequently got sent down for (I think) GBH

Naked and Afraid!

Never seen it but Americans gobble that tripe up. We don't know bad entertainment when we see it.

Not really the thread for it but the BBC's drama output is outstanding.

ITV and C4 have put some great stuff out lately too. Most of it involves Stephen Graham, but there you go. The great thing these days being you can just grab it when you want, within reason.

We need genuine quality public broadcasting, it's important. And equally you have to appreciate that we might dislike some of the crap, but a lot of younger people do like it. I can't insist on a channel showing me pure Jimmy Nesbitt dramas, Oasis/Smiths songs. a Danny Boyle film and some vintage Ramsey before it all became a parody of itself. The world doesn't revolve around me.

TV is healthier now than it was 10/15/20 years ago.

Don't laugh but I started watching these the other day. I need to stop myself before I'm knee deep in 13 seasons of it, plus 7 seasons of a spinoff, plus other spinoffs. Send help

This was such a good doc for so many reasons. The level of access was incredible, looking back on it. I know he was a figure of fun (and he looked ridiculous in that 90s shellsuit), but on reflection I did feel very sorry for Taylor when rewatching the doc. He also felt very loyal to the documentary makers and even snuck them into a match disguised as physios as the host FA had refused to accept a behind-the-scenes film crew.

If anyone likes a sports podcast, I'd strongly recommend the Socially Distanced Sports Bar, where they discuss this doc in their very first episode.

The Championship is a mad league to be in .

Luton are 5th right now , but they are also joint 11th - all on 21 points from 5th to 11th .

We aren't arrogant, paranoid or deluded. Says arrogant, paranoid and deluded Newcastle fan

They sound fucking pathetic and precious.
Taking it personally when opposition fans take the piss about their predicament.
We all know that is the while purpose of opposition fans.

Bournemouth's away game at Middlesbrough is a 5 and 1/2 hour drive for their fans. So Sky have kindly decided to have it as a 12:30pm kickoff. Wankers.
