I prefer sitting, everyone jumps up anyway when we get near goal so you can celebrate 'properly'
When I was a kid, could hardly ever see the game cos I was a shortarse (still am) Most inbthe Southbank stand already, which is why I'm not bothered about going in there.

I don't get why people want to stand the whole time, anyway.

Maybe it's just my knees being shit, but I'd rather be on my ass.

South bank pros:

Can have a smoke at half time

South bank cons:

Got to stand all game

Can’t remember the last time i sat down during a Wolves game. Makes it easier to create an atmosphere and i hate just sitting there. Last time i sat down at a game is when i went with my Utd supporting mate to the Europa league semi final against Celta Vigo.

I've already accepted that I'll probably catch a fair bit of stick (good natured and otherwise) when I finally get over there as I'm just not the sort to join in the singing and all that. Especially as I've never been to live match with a standard of quality higher than the 5th or 6th tier in England (if that).

Maybe somebody can spot me a high-grav beer or a roll of beer's green, smoky cousin to try and knock me out of my shell, ay? ;)

I don't do it either, never have done at home games (away is different, but I don't really do more than 1-2 a season at best these days).

Still, the South Bank can blow smoke up their own arse if they like.

I prefer to sit as well. Didn't mind standing on the South Bank late 80s/early 90s but that was then.

I do think singing (if that's your thing) comes much more naturally stood up though

I think it’s each to their own isn’t it, some like standing and some don’t. Some like singing and some don’t but it’s much easier to create that atmosphere standing and i like to sing during the game. Doesn’t make anyone less of a fan or doesn’t mean they deserve stick for not doing it. Same as I don’t think fans should be looked down on because they stand and sing and make the atmosphere better just because a few that stand by them are dickheads.

For me, standing helps me to feel more involved and entwined with the game. In a similar way to watching music standing up feels more energised and makes me feel like I'm involved in creating something instead of passively waiting for an experience.

It's just about personal taste, and this change allows some people to enjoy and expensive hobby in a way they prefer. I've watched performances of Hamlet whilst standing, so why shouldn't I be allowed to watch a game of football stood up?!

I noticed the new rail seats in the South Bank when I was at the Man Utd match. I wondered how we'd gotten permission to use them.
We have no problem with that permission. Same as City don’t. The issue is come New Years Day the persistent standing issues fuck off for good in those areas.

As someone who has predominantly gone to away games standing (and singing) is just what happens. It is a bit odd, when I make an occasional pilgrimage to the Golden Palace, to then sit in the North Bank with no one near me singing.

I'm happy standing but prefer sitting.

Signing is great, particularly at away games, but after a few mins I'd rather shut up for a bit.

I'm a long term stander in the South Bank. I think the only time I have sat in my seat since the early '90s is when the council decided we all needed to sit down or they was going to shut the stand or something stupid like that. That campaign didn't last long though.

It's all about what you want from the match experience. Some of my best Wolves memories are away games, standing and singing all game. But I often remember little about the game and the memory isn't even sullied by us losing. Equally, I've enjoyed watching some great football by sitting and observing (eg all of our Europa home games from the BWU). It's a completely different day out, you can't really compare the two.

Just seen the guy behind the safe standing campaign on TV and realised I’ve known him for years and had no idea! We’ve literally never talked about football. Very weird.

I don't mind either. enjoy standing in the SB, equally enjoy sitting in the NB. When in the SB I do value the opportunity to sit during half time.

@Aikiwolf made a good comparison with gigs. In the main, I prefer to stand at most gigs, though some artists/musical styles lend themselves better to seating.

Have to acknowledge I am getting older. Mrs jelly has expressed a preference for seats at some shows in recent years, so I have gone with her wishes. However when I go on my own, I'll almost always get a standing ticket.

I've had seats at a handful of gigs, it really is an awful way to enjoy music and has only been dictated to by ticket availability.

After a fair few years of sitting down its really lost its appeal, like standing at the bar something else I don't do anymore.

Feels dirty praising these wankers but Bolton have pulled all betting sponsorships, removing betting kiosks from the Reebok and will be replaced by addiction charities. The only one to remain will be SkyBet who sponsor the EFL. Get enough clubs to do it and hopefully the EFL drop them at the next renewal..
