Missing about half our usual starting XI due to COVID, Charlotte continued our inability to get points on the road, losing 2-1 at Montreal.

Should have been a draw but Karol Swiderski conspired to miss two unbelievable sitters back-to-back from about 2 yards. Oh well.

Is managing Stangeways a step up or down from Wales?
I played against them in the Manchester Wednesday League. Obviously they get to play all their games at home.
They're all like fucking whippets. Got nothing to do all day except practice and get fitter.
The pitch was entirely clay, sloped downhill and the wind blew incessantly.
They'd stand there, scuff their feet and as this massive cloud of brown dust blew up into your face and eyes, they just pissed past you...
In the changing room, they served tea. It came in a stainless steel bucket with about 30 teabags floating in it. You dipped your mug into it.
After you'd been up most of the night working freight trains, you made your way to North Manchester for this fun fixture.
Highlight of the Month!

That's amazing, what was the score?

Was the ref more than a little intimidated?

Government dropping plans to ban gambling sponsorship in football. Instead doing their usual trick of trying to get someone else to do things for them and have the PL say clubs can't have them.

Derby could face further points deducted due to illegal payment of players salaries (£1.6m) by Rooney's agent Paul Stretford which could breach rules

Something else Radio Derby reported a fortnight ago and Nixon scoffed at

So basically they are going to get away with it on the basis that “Spurs can have us by the balls” if we have a hard deadline.

Rules aren’t fit for purpose. They’ve basically strung the PL along for 3 years and PL have just accepted it. Then when it actually comes to “walking the walk” they’ve come up with more excuses and they are going to let them off again.

Not a lot of building work going on in the teeth of the Mersey gale just now. I don’t think much has changed in a week bar driving the cranes about a bit to make it look like work is happening.

The cynic would imply funding sources are drying up.

From what evidence? Can't seem to find a time lapse camera or anything for the project and the most up to date amateur footage is of a closed site on Sunday.

He posts every week and very little has changed lately. Especially when contrasted with the speed the Anfield Road is going up.

Who posts every week?

I don't know much of either project in any great detail but looking at a few pictures it appears there are 6 cranes working on a single stand at Anfield compared to 8 on an entire stadium for Everton, hardly surprising one looks to be moving quicker with such a concentration of resource.

A slow week in isolation is nothing to get carried away with, working on a job in Birmingham at the moment where we struggled to accomplish a week's work in the month of May and may soon even be asked to stop work all together for reasons beyond our control. Another job slightly closer to home we'll end up with two weeks of almost nothing happening on site until the start of August as we've performed better than expected but follow on trades couldn't improve their procurement periods to continue immediately.

Shit performance, shit result for Charlotte last night, lost 0-1 at home against Austin FC. We just don’t have enough quality for this level yet.

We now sit outside the playoffs but just competing for a spot is quite good, all things considered.
