The Goggle Box Thread

Thought it was pretty poor opening episode in all honesty. Presumably not helped by filming during Covid but seemed really stilted to me and been listening to its own press as it tried to force in as many police acronyms and Northern Irish sayings for Adrian Dunbar as possible. On the subject of which, filmed in Belfast which is a really recognisable city but clearly not meant to be set there.
Meant to be set in Brum, which is plain odd but has been since series 2.

Series 1 was filmed in Brum

Few ok-ish brummie accents last night.

Thought it was an ok start, we'll see how it progresses. Problem is there are such high expectations and its been well over hyped. Chances are we're nearing the end of its life.

Decent start for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier too.

Some series are good but have run their course after 1 series. Humans falls into that category for me as does Designated Survivor and Ratched
I've found I am enjoying series 2 of humans. Some aspects are a bit out there, but there are some really interesting parts to the storyline.

First episode of Line of Duty suffered from not being as explosive as the earlier series & was anticipated far too much.

Got 6 to go so we will see.

anyone got any recommendations for a relatively light entertainment watch?
My fave tv show of all time is QI, as it is funny, but also intelligent. Having exhausted that, I started looking around for something else that might be funny or stimulating. I'm down to only documentaries at the moment, but kinda want something a little light, or with humour.

I tried a few comedy series - schitts creek (got 3 episodes in and gave up) and brooklyn 99 isn't really doing it for me either. I tried arrested development, and didn't get that either. I did enjoy re-watching penn and tellers fool us though.

Looking for something that I can happily watch without the intensity of a lot of shows, like when I am having a lazy gentle day, rather than action packed shizzle that takes up all my concentration.

Would I Lie To You is very entertaining, particularly if Bob Mortimer is on.

Also, Mortimer & Whitehouse Go Fishing. Also check out The Detectorists.

All are a very easy and relaxing watch.

I'm halfway through season 2 of Parks and Rec. It's alright. The (US) Office at the same stage was much better imho.

appreciate the suggestions, and any others!
taskmaster - watched some of the series previously.
WILTY has gotten a bit dry if I'm honest.
the office never did it, & this country never appealed. strongly doubt they're my cuppa, but may give them a go during an insomnia period.
parks and rec is the one possible I've been looking at.

Watching 2-3 episodes a week, it took me over a year to get through every episode of Cheers. Looking for another comedy with a lot of episodes I tried Trailer Park Boys.
Not quite the same level of sophistication.
Ended up skipping 9 whole series and all the 'specials'.
