The Goggle Box Thread

Save Me/Save Me Too. Diabolical. I had decent hopes for it as it starred Lennie James, Stephen Graham, Ade Edmondson and Suranne Jones (not a fan really but she was good in Scott and Bailey) but it was pretty fucking dire. It was like Eastenders with a much bigger budget, proper cringe worthy stuff.

Yep, started it tonight on the back of recommendations on here. Watched 2 episodes, good start. Great soundtrack, Feels a bit like a Westside Wire so far (with D'Angelo's mom playing Franklin's mom amongst other things.)
I watched ep 3 yesterday. Gets very real.

Got the free week of AppleTV+ so checked out For All Mankind. It's right up my alley but can't seem to get into it.

Ted Lasso is great though.

Mosquito Coast is on there too - I'm a huge Paul Theroux fan, looking forward to watching that.

I was going to give that Snowfall a look but checked iPlayer and got put off straight away. May sound stupid but when it comes to drama I like dull, bleak kind of stuff, just look at the fucking colours jumping out of the screen at you in every episode! You'd need shades to watch it! Way too bright and dayglow for my liking, I'm a miserable dreary bastard.

Change the colour settings on your TV to Black and white and read Wolves related Tweets after a defeat. That should bring everything down

It is fucking bleak. Don't worry about that.

Watched the 4 part Woody Allen vs Mia Farrow documentary. Although it's only told from one side, the evidence against him is pretty compelling

You’ve just watched too many scandi stuff - started associating that weird bright half light with good TV :)
I know it's the eighties but when I see things produced like that it just feels completely fake and completely removed from reality, like CSI or something like that.

Just started Domina. The end of the Roman Republic and birth of the Emperors is one of my favourite periods in history so right into this. Great start

Underground Railway on Amazon Prime - first episode about trying to escape the tyranny of life on a plantation - quality production so far.
