The Goggle Box Thread

  • If you watch Stranger Things but haven't finished it yet, don't watch this!
  • If you don't watch Stranger Things but like Metallica, watch this!
  • If you don't watch Stranger Things and don't like Metallica, what the fuck is wrong with you?

Stranger Things was absolutely incredible. Can’t remember the last TV show I enjoyed this much, I loved it anyway but this last series took a big step forward

Not bothered about 'supernatural' stuff, so that's Stranger Things dealt with...

Definitely. They keep finding ways to introduce new characters and stories that just make it better. Eddie, Murray and Robyn have all added quality to the show.

I'm trying to avoid this thread as I'm only just into Season 3. I'm not into anything Marvel or DC, or Dr Who or Star Wars, but Stranger Things is so much more than that. It's about community and friendship as much and probably more than the 'supernatural stuff'. If you are of a certain age it's got great callbacks including Winona Ryder. It's actually very good.

Definitely more than just the supernatural. It blends the supernatural with elements of coming of age drama, comedy, redemption saga and much more. It's very clever. And the reference spotting is so much fun.

I never got beyond hearing the lispy kid do a radio interview.

It doesn't really appeal to me in anyway, supernatural and sci-fi type stuff doesn't really push my buttons.

Freddie Flintoffs cricket programme....Adnan made me fill up.
Not finished the second episode yet. Having seen the bit where he joined and it showed him batting and bowling I couldn’t believe when it said he’d only arrived 11 months ago and had never had any coaching.

Just finished Severance. I thought it was a bit of a slow burner to begin with but I’m so glad I stuck with it. The last episode was superb.

Finally caught up with Season 3 & 4 of Stranger Things. Such good TV! 3 was ace and then 4 took it to a whole new level of awesomeness. There were so many great moments. Episode 7 onwards was phenomenal.

I’m really tempted to go back and re-watch from Season 1 now.

Maya Hawke has just released a new song where she gets one of her mammaries out in the video. For those Stranger Things fans...

The comments are fawning all over her singing. Seems a bit bland, airy and forgettable to me.

About to watch neighbours for the first time in nearly 30 years.

I watched yesterday and today's lunchtime episode. Bizarre to see people you've not seen since 1989 look unsurprisingly 30 odd years older. Even Sophie from Home and Away was there

Plain Jane was the one who surprised me.

Yep, don't think those glasses are going to bring about a Clark Kent moment these days. Shane Ramsey is the other one
