I really need to get back playing again. I haven't been for about 18 months. I could have played a charity event at a local course yesterday but I was working.

I generally play on a local Par 3 18 hole course, though it has some decent length holes so I get the bigger clubs out of the bag. 190-210 yards.

I learnt to play on a par 62 course which was about 5400 yards, but very narrow. I then moved to my dad's home course which is par 72 and about 6,600 off the back tees. Totally different game from there - you really do have to hit it a long way then.

Hitting the ball a long way was never my problem. It was the direction the ball took !!!!!!!

The grange at walsall used to be decent for a 9 hole course.

I tend to play hill top (near the west brom ground). As a municipal, it is quite challenging, but in great nick. You won't get better value for money. Last year, after 2pm you could get a round for half price.

My dad plays at patshull - he's a member there. Personally, I have to say that it is no better or worse than hill top.

Perton is lat & boring. 2 farmers fields knocked together.

I have heard that chesterton valley (off the bridgnorth road) is a fun shorter 18 hole course...

Del Wop, definitely better to buy cheap twice. To be honest, give your first set of clubs a year or so for you to get used to em before changing.

Patsull lives off it's old reputation, it's pretty average nowadays.

I like Chesterton Valley, but there are some very short holes. I won a competition there a few weeks ago with 43 points. :icon_redface:

I played 9 holes the other day with my dad whilst having the car fixed. Too early really, but nice to get some air.

Because of work & limited holiday time, & the fact that the bowls season is almost upon us, I'm restricted to sundays or during the school hols.

But I'd definitely be up for it when sunny!
