The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Last night was a Chicken & Mushroom Balti for me. I made the mistake of licking the spoon on hubbys....a Phaal/Phall Curry. I have just started to regain the feeling in my mouth.

Dreadful stuff.

Cracking day for it.

Just reading an article from a former personal chef of the Queen on what the she likes to eat:

"What is the most important meal at the Palace?

McGrady says that the most popular meal of the week was always Friday fish and chips.

“Everybody loved fish and chips," explained McGrady. "All the staff, 300 staff at Buckingham Palace, all of the chefs would have fish and chips for lunch. But, forget your tartar sauce and your ketchup, we loved it with salad cream. Salad cream on those French fries, on those chips."

Although the Queen reportedly had her fish and chips in a panko breadcrumb rather than traditional batter. As for her condiment of choice - Lea & Perrins, HP Sauce, and Heinz ketchup all hold royal warrants."

#vindicated #saladcream

I also only eat L&P Worcester sauce, HP fruity sauce and Heinz ketchup.

Holding the Royal family up as a beacon of normality is a complete non-starter...

It says the chefs and all of the staff too.

Yeah, what reason would they have for humouring their employer..?

I doubt the Queen stands over them watching them eat, wherever that may be.

She’s basically German and Belgium is the home of that sort of condiment on chips.

So you're a Queen?

The missus is going out tonight so I get to cook something I wouldn't normally make:
Fresh Garlic Tiger Prawns with Asian veg and stir-fried noodles

I do like tiger prawns. Garlic, chilli, basil, coriander, loads of butter. Epic

No butter or coriander for me, I'll be frying them in sesame oil with garlic, ginger, spring onion, bamboo shoots and baby corn

We are having beans rather than onion gravy. Either works. Mint sauce is odd, but the mustard is more than acceptable.

If you have gravy then I can sort of see it. If the mash is with baked beans mint sauce would clash hideously.
