The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

I had my traditional Boxing Day meal which was cold meat from the Christmas dinner with fried potatoes.

Cold meats for us too, with left over roast potatoes, and pickled red cabbage.....which all ended up as a sandwich for me. Lovely.

Salmon Gentleman's Relish on toast. Mmmm...

I love an omelette, but very very rarely do them. Maybe one night next week 😀
mrs jelly was given an omelette maker for her bday. I'm not usually one for kitchen gadgets, bu this is brilliant! Lovely fluffy omelettes, cooked in record time, with next to no mess. easy to clean too - much better than in a pan. and quick!
would recommend one.

You bought her a pan?
some years ago a mate bought his missus a frying pan for Christmas....tbf it was Christmas eve and he had been in the pub all day.....she threw it at him for some reason, it was a big old heavy un too. Stupid thing is, he did all the cooking in their house.......they are no longer together.

Omelettes take about 5 mins in a pan and only need a wipe to clean.

Omelettes are weird. Don't mind one when loaded with other items though.

My go to one is ham, cheese, tomato and onion.

I love mushrooms in them but can't be arsed to cook them first.

Unnecessary spending (unless someone couldn't think of any other present)

It's easy enough in a pan even if presentation is not perfect then it's the taste that matters

Ham & cheese always in, but the last couple have included a chopped up pepper that I have grown a fair few of this year. - Gave it a real bite.

One of my gifts this Christmas was a set of good kitchen knives. The sad thing is is that I asked for them!
A good set of kitchen knives is always useful, particularly if someone breaks in - the largest one I have is more of a machete than anything else.

Really not sure what the person who bought them for me thought I was going to be cooking :)

When we were kids my Grandad worked at the HGV testing station at Featherstone (I think that's where the phrase 'fell off the back of a lorry' was invented) One year he brought home a Christmas present off us for our Mom, it was an ironing board and as we were less than ten years old we thought nothing of it and even wrapped it for her, I'm 55 in February and my Mom is 80 next year, she still goes on about it !

Tin of tomatoes boiled right down so it resembles a paste, add to a tin of beans, chuck on top of some toast, add fried egg, and tuck in. Bostin.

A selection of cheeses and biscuits (plus chutney, pâté and a Côtes du Rhône), my last big indulgence before going for a 2+ stone weight loss...

Sausage and Cannaloni bean casserole........followed by trying to get through the Christmas left over goodies
