The " Honey I'm home and I'm bloody starving , what's for dinner " Thread.

Anyone else tried the jars of Mutti Parmigiano Reggiano sauce for their Spag Bol. Really tasty ( for when you cant be bothered making your own sauce )

Spag Bol tonight with Garlic Bread to dunk.

Carrot and corriander soup, followed with bouef bourguignon with creamy mash and long-stemmed broccoli.

Bourguignon is fucking glorious when done right and creamy mash is a perfect match for it.

Did Salmon and cream cheese pasta, really simple but very tasty....I'm starting to get the hang of seasoning now
Seasoning is so important. You start off putting in what you think is a good amount and it just isn't enough. Then you get the hang of it (without pushing it too far so all you can taste is the seasoning) and everything comes to life.

Plus it really depends on what you are cooking with salt to add. Seafood, and indeed a lot of cheeses can have significant salt content so you need to take that into account in seasoning the dish.

I must get back to the proper cooking I did when Squeeze and the kids still lived here. I have become very lazy cooking for one, and that isn't great. Picked up an absolutely amazing Thai food bible sort of thing (about 750 pages and it is incredibly comprehensive). I intend to attack that in the same way as I did the Julia Child books to teach myself French cuisine 20 years ago.

I had Carrot and Corriander soup tonight Leeds, very nice it was too, the Haddock and and chips that followed was perfectly acceptable aswell. The joys of working away I suppose, although the beef bourguignon sounds nice.

Having something tonight that I very very rarely have. Pizza. Don't know why but I just fancy it.

Sometimes something quick and easy is a delight....I love a pizza now and again, preferably home made but a shop bought one is good also

It will be a shop bought one tonight. Just wondering which one I should go for. If anyone has had a good one lately let me know where it was from, as I'm not really up on Pizzas.

I prefer the Morrison's Pizza counter ones to cook at home better than anything from the likes of Dominos, Pizza Hut etc.

The last one I can remember having was from Pizza Hut and it put me off them. It was really greasy.

What are the best Black Country Pork Crunch (not scratchings)?

As DW said, Coop do some great pizzas
