The Live Match Discussion Thread: 2019/2020

UEFA have had to devalue their sponsorship deals more than once.

Platini let them get away with a hell of a lot before he was carted off.

Their TV income for their home league is piss all. Yes, champions league income. But you are seriously telling me without dodgy shit they could blow Real Madrid off the hand for a player of galactico status and also make the nearest to Messi at Barcelona an offer that makes him want to leave?

It’s like Walsall signing Harry Kane
Technically Neymar cost them £0. Neymar himself paid his release fee...now if you ignore the fact he travelled to the UAE and did some "work" for a company not at all linked to PSG and his earnings were exactly his release fee it wasn't dodgy at all.

Quite. It’s been dodgy over inflated sponsorships for years and fucking years

Oh look Verati might be coming on. No doubt on £5 a week and a packet of quavers and earns everything else for “consultancy work”

It feels grossly exaggerated at times, especially as it seems clubs with more "history" aren't held to the same standard.

Tbf PSG have been at it for years. Canal+ owned them through the 90s and they spent money like water then too. Although amusingly they were largely shit regardless.

Plasticy fake club anyway.

Quite. And a lot of that is the same dodgy sponsorship that City was in the dock for. I hate PSG

Lyon should be 3 up, missed 3 fantastic chances.

Lyon should be two up here. Playing great stuff. And then Gnabry scores a worldie

Diego Carlos has now given away penalties in the quarters, semi and final.

Should probably have had a red card after two minutes.

I've only ever seen Diego Carlos in those three games I think, shocking how bad he is! Agree he should have been sent off.

Have to credit Lukaku for winning the penalty though. Look at the way he runs and pressures Carlos (who really should get that away quite easily). Great desire. Doubt you would have seen that from him at Man United.
