The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2018/19

Looks like Ryan Lowe is off to Plymouth. Can't blame him for leaving Bury given the mess there.

Lopetegui to Seville. Oh what he could have had...

Serious rebuilding job required there. Given the owner's actions so far, it doesn't scream of a manager being given a war chest to do so though.

Gayle and Barnes are obviously long gone, Gibbs is off, J-Rod has a £5m release clause and Burnley (surprise surprise) are after Dawson.

That leaves Johnstone (shite), Hegazi (carthorse), Bartley (awful last season), Burke (dire since leaving Forest and supposedly they have to stump up another £5m), Livermore, HRK and Phillips with any real experience at that level. It doesn't look pretty.

A good clear out will do them good though surely. Even if its a mediocre season bringing youngsters on supplemented by a bit of new experince or existing experience could give them a bit of a platform for 2021. Important they get a manager for the medium to long term though now.

Their parachute payments are about to reduce significantly and most of the squad isn’t fit for purpose plus the owner isn’t putting a brass farthing in. Shit or bust for them this season. A lot of their fans seem resigned to a long mid table championship stay at the best.

It only takes a decent manager and good couple of cheap signings and you can challenge in the Championship. The state of their squad/bank balance shouldn't make a difference.

They are not a shambles like a Sunderland or us under Dean....yet.

Agree kenny. Mick got us into the playoffs with five beans.
Albion have some decent kids. Play them instead of some prima-donnas. Make the right signings and they can be challenging for a top 6 spot.
appoint the right manager sounds a lot easier than it really is.

I think it's conceivable the West Brom could struggle and at the odds you'll get, i'm going to put a bit of money on them getting relegated. Their squad really wasn't very good anyway but they made the play offs as they had 2 good strikers for that level, they wont have those 2 next season and some of the players they still have are ageing.

This season's parachute payments are at the same level, it's next summer they reduce. Still a massive amount of work on this summer though

The shit now want to speak to Lee Bowyer. An acceptable level of cuntitude for that cackhole in my humble opinion, but this whole manager search has been completely scattergun. Their board appear rather clueless, and definitely lacking a vision to which they can attach a managerial philosophy and then shortlist. Four months of this. Only a couple of weeks until they appoint Appleton. I must admit I am thoroughly enjoying their malaise. Hopefully it lasts decades.

Certainly shitting themselves like we did when we sacked Mick. Not a clue who they want, what style they want but do know he cant earn a crap load.

Their top choice changes more than Dean Saunders changed tactics in a game.

They are just floundering now. Asking any random bird in the room for a bunk up. They are going to end up with a desperate old boiler.

It's all very odd. The timing of the sacking of Moore suggested they had a replacement lined up and ready to go.

Obviously the big man in China lost his shit and those he employs to run the club are a bit clueless.

It is all very Morgan/Moxey in the final 18 months

My new phrase for the summer, Thanks. Chapeau

They did, but in their strange recruitment world, didn't see telling the candidate what the job paid or asking Mr Jokanavic what he was looking for as important. At least we were fucked over by Curbishley

The comparisons can definitely be made. Sadly even that bunch of idiots arent stupid enough to appoint Saunders
