The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2018/19

Chelsea would be mad to sack Sarri if Juventus are sniffing round. Let them pay compo

Looks like Sarri is off to Juve and Frank Lampard's Derby County are going to lose the first part of their name. Nuno is 14/1 third favourite

Wouldn't the ex Juve boss be favourite.

Precedent. Hoddle won the playoffs with Swindon and quit more or less straight away to join Chelsea [/Cyber]

I'll have some of that for Allegri.

All seems a bit weird, don't see why Juve would really want Sarri and then Lampard would be a hell of a gamble for Chelsea you'd think, I mean Derby haven't looked anything special when I've seen them. I guess Chelsea have limited options though with the transfer ban, and a former fans favourite probably gets more slack from the fans if they have to struggle through with a depleted squad for a while.

Allegri's stock is probably higher than it should be, winning Serie A with Juve isn't that hard at the moment (not quite Lennon/Celtic levels, but in a similar bracket) and he hasn't won a Champions League despite huge spending. In that context I can't see him going to a club with a mediocre squad - they made the top four out of everyone else's failings - where the best player is leaving and you can't sign anyone for a year.

Whereas Frankie gets a free shot for a year because of who he is.

To be fair I like Lampard, always have done. Intelligent, fantastic pro, got the absolute best out of what he was as a player and that's a very good first season as a manager.

Gennaro Gattuso quits as manager of AC Milan

Apparently forgone a pay off saying that his Milan story was never about money

Valverde a goner to be replaced by tactical genius Roberto Martinez.

I mean his last job was a relative success, but really... He's certainly not going to fix Barça's problems in defense.

You forget he's the third best manager in the world ay e,just pipping Mr Gareth waistcoat into fourth

André Villas-Boas the new Marseille manager

Such a weird career path for Martinez. Two years of total failure at Everton got him the Belgium job, and all he did there was the minumum that was expected with a very talented squad followed by collapsing against Switzerland in the Nations League. Yet somehow that makes him the best candidate for the Barca job?

Remember he got the Everton job directly after relegating Wigan too, after he'd spent years not doing anything about their shite defence.

And while he may have started something at Swansea, Brodge and Laudrup took them miles beyond what he was ever going to achieve.
