The Manager Sacked/Hired Thread 2020/21

Problem with Hughton is you basically need to bin him as soon as you go up, and we all know that never happens.

That's very harsh . There are a fair few clubs that would love to have him . He didn't get Brighton relegated , and Potter did not do a whole lot better last season .

Hughton has a great Championship record and given the right club might well do well in the Premier League yet .

If I recall correctly Newcastle moved him on when they weren't in a bad position in the Premier League .

It's not that he's a bad manager, it's that by and large PL fans have moved away from the pragmatic 'safety first' approach beyond that first season back. I agree that Potter is getting them into a similar league position, but I'd imagine for the average Brighton fan it's a more entertaining watch.

That home game against them in his last season when they got a 0-0 draw is the most unambitious performance I can remember seeing from an opposition side at Molineux, even though it resulted in the outcome he was looking for. Murray was their most forward player and was 15 yards inside his own half for most of the game

Disagree. Hes a very limited Premier League manager, hes got Newcastle promoted and was badly treated because of Ashley and Lombias being cunts but with Norwich and Brighton fans were happy to see him go, he sucks the enjoyment out of going to the game with negative shit football, think Jackett in his final season with us. Once you resort to that football you're on a hiding to nowhere.

I'd wager he'll get Forest up quite comfortably but he'll be gone inside 18 months of promotion.

Paul Scholes back in football management as an interim manager at Salford City as Graham Alexander has been sacked.

From the outside that seems a harsh sacking after an unbeaten start to the season

Two up with 4 minutes to go on Saturday and drew. Only won 2 of their last 15 at home in the league. Roy Keane rumoured, although I doubt the owners would put themselves in that position

Owner/Manager? Might as well play...

Going to be a brief spell for Scholes. Only stepped in as the guy they wanted to take temp charge is currently having to self isolate

Maybe he'll just hold the fort until Ole gets sacked down the road?

Sounds like Mick McCarthy is about to get a job in Cyprus, APOEL.
