The Music Thread Strikes Back

Heard this a few times on 6music - superb song.

watched jools last night for the first time in a while and rather liked this:

That's The Stooges I wanna be your dog played at the wrong speed :)

there’s a radiohead vibe to this one.
Listening to that sounded more like Arab Strap to me, though get where you're coming from.

In other news, took me a few listens, but am now finding the new James album to be really solid. It isn't exactly a new direction, but there are new ideas and styles incorporated, and quite effectively.

Random questions asked in an American liquor store while you are listening to the Smiths:

Why does Morrissey sing
"As the flames rose to her roman nose
And her walkman started to melt"
if Joan of Arc was French?

The customer has obviously spent way too much time listening to the Smiths, yet his biggest question about their lyrics concerns Joan of Arc's nose. If he is going to take everything literally, then at the very least the walkman should pose a bigger question.

There’s a lot worse questions people could ask about Morrissey tbf.

I watched Shoplifters Of The World last night.

It was ok, but only in a quirky weird way. Shoehorning as many Smiths lyrics as they could felt a bit forced after a while.

6music is ace today - playing all old live Glastonbury tunes. Faithless - We come one has just nearly blown my speakers.
