The Music Thread Strikes Back

They announced their new album yesterday too.
I kinda liked alternative light source too, but for me there's a distinction between the first 2 albums, both of which are class, as were the live shows then, and the new version of leftfield.

Yeah they are a very different band now.

I caught them on the 20(?) Year tour of leftism and either it was me being old, or with someone who didn't like them that much, but they didn't seem that great live, just seemed to be missing something

I still have those 2 gigs in the Civic down as some of the best live experiences ever

Yeah I missed the liveism tour, but the Civic show in 2000 was phenomenal! The drumming on song for life blew my mind. The show was superb & I agree, now they seem to be leftfield lite a bit.

"The rock band AC/DC has a song called 'Highway to Hell'! Who would want to be on a highway to Hell!?"

- An actual thing said by a street preacher in my neighborhood just now

I assume you pointed out that song is 42 years old and Satan has penned tons of new material in the intervening years?

I was very tempted to shout "me! Hail Satan!!" from my balcony.

If he is shitting himself about AC/DC, he probably doesn't want to know that Deicide exist.

Should have pointed out it’s a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven, shows where most of us are going

He also had a “good” line about how the Grateful Dead are evil because they’re “grateful to be dead! How are we okay with this!?”

😂

I have the Breeders and the Pixies albums on CD and at various points I have owned taped copies of the Sundays, Carter & Charlatans albums. I don't know why I haven't ever had a copy of the Jane's Addiction album as I'm sure I'd like it, it must have just passed me by.
I have violator somewhere I’m sure.

shit result today and this is 20 years old, which makes me feel too old

I've only bought through Viagogo once and found out I overpaid. Since then I have never used the platform and found that gigs that were 'sold out' apparently still had tickets left.

I still remember the age of the ticket tout and whilst they didn't have any morals at least they didn't pretend to be anything but scalpers
