The NFL Thread

You must be a happy man today?

Long overdue. Glad Dimitroff has gone, drafts have been horrific for ages now. Every analyst always says we’ve “reached”. Tons of resources spent of DBs that hasn’t translated into anything remotely decent. Finally got some decent pass rush after two 1st round busts, still not anything special but it’s pointless as the DBs can’t cover anyone. So many missed tackles as well, which I honestly think I’d make.

Went from one of the best offence’s ever to a total middle of the pack team with the exact same players but just because Shanahan left.

Then even when we’ve had games won we’ve thrown them away in inexplicable fashion on a regular basis. That has to be poor coaching. For a defensive minded coach to have a consistent bad defense is poor as well. Quinn Was basically carried by Shanahan and the talent that was there. Massive underperformance and rightly booted.

I'm happy for you mate, but as a Saints fan I'd wished for Quinn to stay there forever!

Mind you, I don't know about Raheem Morris as a head coach (started well in Tampa Bay before flaming out badly).

Just a sticking plaster until the get the right people.

Don’t know whether they are going to Rip it all up or try and go again with the same group. Ryan isn’t young but plenty of older QBs still going and he’s never been mobile anyway. Jones is always banged up so might not get worthy value in a trade. Isn’t much else you could/would get rid off after that as they are either young or rubbish

NFC East after 6 games.
5-12-1. 3 of the 5 wins were divisional games. The biggest division franchise wise, the worst by a distance quality wise.

Dallas we awful last night, real garbage

It goes in cycles. Not many years ago the NFC West was unbelievably bad as a group. Now it's top two amongst the divisions.

That said, most Philly and Dallas fans are totally unbearable. Seem to feel entitled to Super Bowl contention every year.

Not saying that's anyone here, of course.

Cheeky 😀

Texans doing Texans stuff. They just fired their PR boss - the only woman in the league to hold that post - for not being a "cultural fit". J.J. Watt and others are pissed. Romoured she was fired for tweeting in support of Kamala Harris.

The ending to the Cardinals v Bills game was wild. Flukey win really, but a hell of a play by Hopkins to make that catch.

The male version of Jacqui Oatley is taking over from Chappers on the NFL show. As only an occasional live viewer I really enjoyed the NFL show - shame that it is going become ever so earnest now.

I don't watch it very often as I tend to get my NFL content in podcast form, but how does a presenter who famously doesn't work on Sunday's get a job where the biggest game of the year and the only one the BBC takes live is on a Sunday?

Hopefully that means Chappers will be back for that.

Houston v Detroit is a comedy of errors. Must have been five turnovers in just over a quarter.
