Looks like that trade is costing the 49ers a lot. Move up from 12 to 3 in 2021 draft in exhange for 2021 3rd round pick, 2022 1st round pick, 2023 1st round pick.

They are always subjective but each sports magazine wants theirs to be taken seriously. I have seen other rankings that show Chiefs above Browns and Bills, but it was the bottom of the rankings that most surprised me. Rebuilding year or not, the Eagles should not be that bad, nor should the Falcons.

I think the effects of the reduced salary cap make the upcoming season one of the most difficult to predict in years.

Falcons issue was coaching. Losing games you shouldn’t be able to lose.

Yes the defence has been left threadbare to meet the cap but none of the people who have left were that good anyway.

Offence is above average and Defence is just missing some decent pass rush. Hopefully addressed in the draft because Dante Fowler Jr is proving it was Aaron Donald who made him look good.

They'll start him this year. Neither Lance or Fields are predicted to be NFL ready from Day 1

They are wrong about these QBs every year though, people were unsure on Herbert, people were unsure on Prescott, everyone had him behind Connor Cook, including the Cowboys. Back in the Carr draft people had Bridgewater and Bortles way ahead of him. He hasn't been top tier but he has been way better than either of those two.

If the 49ers had better QB play then there is the potential the 22 and 23 first rounders are going to be from 18th plus, so I don't think the value of this is "that" steep if that happens. The issue seems to be they traded into 3, it could be they suspect the Jets aren't going QB, but even if they aren't they have now tipped off others to try and jump ahead of them and get that Jets pick.

The Jets are taking Wilson, that's why Philly traded down rather than up. It means that SF like either Lance or Fields

The Eagles were the 6th worst last year despite being in the worst division.

Since then they've traded their franchise QB and confirmed they are going with the kid who had the worst completion % in the NFL last year. Hurts' game is more about his legs, but you do need to at least be a servicable passer.

They have binned their SB winning Head Coach to try and salvage their QB who still wanted out and replaced him with a kid that comes over like a cross between an enthusiastic puppy amd Screach from Saved by the Bell, who uses High School phrases all the time like 'the guy loves ball', I hope I'm wrong but i can't see him carrying a veteran locker room

Their oline should be fit and when it is it's a Top 10 unit, but they are old which is why they get injured a lot, so no guarantees there.

In FA they gained and lost a safety so probably a small upgrade, whilst the teams in their division have all notably improved 2 (on paper) with acquisitions the other with getting their QB back

They have no cap space and $40m in dead money and have traded their best chance of drafting a difference maker like Chase and Pitts away

2022 looks healthier, Wentz completely of their books and likely 3 1st round picks. They probably won't be the second worst team, but with the likes of the Jags and Jets about to Draft the best 2 QB's I can see why they'd rank there.

The 17 game season has been confirmed. 4 games outside the US a year, plus whatever the Jags do. Each side will play abroad at least once every 8 years the 'home' side will be in a year when they have the extra home game

So they basically just made them play an extra game every season to compensate for the home game abroad. I don't see what's wrong with that. 16 games is nothing any way. Professional athletes should be able to play longer than 6 months of the year.

Plus most of those teams will only play 17 in any given season if they don't make the playoffs. Teams regularly play more than 16 with playoff runs any way. One more isn't going to make a difference. Only to the two teams that make the Superbowl every year.

Have the games allocations abroad been confirmed? London gets 3, Mexico gets one? Or maybe Germany gets one instead of London?

Just because rugby players are subjected to an inhuman schedule doesn't mean American football should follow suit.

2021 tbc, although the 17th game starts this coming season the rotation doesn't start until 2022 with the NFC. Mexico and UK confirmed with Germany a possibility. Purely guesswork but I'd say London 2, Mexico 1, Germany 1, plus 2 Jags games in London.

Not yet confirmed but pre season will drop from 4 to 3 or maybe 2 games, although most sides don't play their starters in those anymore and if they do it's for a couple of series in 1 game

Most teams play their starters for up to 3 quarters in the 3rd pre season game. The 4th pre season game is a waste of time as virtually no starters play at all unless they are in a battle for the starting role.

That's not been the case for most sides for a few years

"Among preseason Week 3 games, Week 1 starters played nearly 50 percent of available snaps in 2010. In 2019, Week 1 starters played 23.6 percent of available snaps."

Really? Preseason I watched last year, a lot of starters played until at least half time, though sure, not all the starters. Olines played at least a half, QBs too. Maybe rotated RBs and WRs more. Similar on defense, a lot of Dlinemen and LBS played at least a half, maybe DBs rotated out more.

I don't see it as a problem for most teams particularly as most teams want to play 19 games to start with.

It's only the Superbowl teams who will be affected and if they're good enough to get there in sure they'll be fine.

It will be a detriment to the players careers as they could well be shorter because of the physical pounding.

I think where your bye week falls will become more important. If you use this upcoming season as an example (before any amendments for overseas games) Tennessee and Pittsburgh are both Week 4 so if they were to play in the Wild Card round and make the AFC Championship game that would be 17 games in consecutive weeks
