The NFL Thread

Deshaun Watson rumours starting up again. Texans supposedly willing to listen to offers, but would take a bidding war for them to get what they want - possibly “some combination of five high draft picks and starting caliber players.”
If he does go, the clear favourites are the Eagles, possibly the Dolphins and Broncos are still interested.

I think he'll be in Philly for 2022 season and it'll cost their probable 3 1's. Still don't think it'll happen this year, unless he gets his chequebook out. No brainer from a talent perspective obviously and the Eagles did take Vick, but made a big point about him being reformed and going through a rigorous interview process. Can't claim that here.

He's not getting his trade and has rejected a contract which would make him the best paid player in the league. I hope he plays and goes next year as he's a great player...mardy fucker though

Didn't Rodgers extend his contract last year? And surely Green Bay would have drafted a QB if he was off?

They drafted one last year - Love, that's what kicked this all off. It's similar to what's happened in Philadelphia, the difference is there it broke the QB, Rodgers put up a MVP season and has gone FU

Just read an article suggesting the Colts could struggle this season - because their first five opponents all won 10+ games last season. Wentz will not have the "mental fortitude" to overcome this, therefore the Titans are clear favourites to win the division.

He's now injured...who'd have thought it?

Bills currently trying to get New York state to build them a new stadium, and have threatened (normal negotiating tactic) to relocate if they don't get what they want. They have suggested Austin TX as a new location. Austin is still smaller than San Antonio but is growing very rapidly and eventually they will become one metro area. There is no doubt Texas is big enough for a third NFL team, but Jerry Jones has the power of veto.

Injuries are obviously a thing, but his fragile ego is by far a bigger an issue.

Josh Allen gets a new contract, 6 years, $243 million, $150 million guaranteed. Sweet deal for both sides.
