The Open at Carnoustie should be a great tournament.

I see that Dustin Johnson is the favourite

I'm having a sneaky bet on Tommy Fleetwood with Adam Scott as a longer shot.

I can't play golf at all but love it on the telly!

I like playing golf and watching it.

I hate SKY for taking golf away from people and the R&A are complicit in that. Gammon faced elitist fucks.

Thomas Pieters, Alex Noran and Matthew Southgate each way

Love playing golf, can't stand watching it. Bores me to fuck.
The Ryder Cup is the only exception personally.

I will watch the highlights as I don't have a Sky Sports package. A shame as the Sky coverage is excellent due to no "whacky" Ken Brown monologue bollocks, and no Peter fucking Alliss.

One other plus of Sky getting the whole shindig is they use their own cameramen. This is a bonus as they can actually follow a golf ball in flight - something that BBC cameramen jusy cannot seem to manage.

5 minutes of Alliss on the BBC highlights and I want to commit hari-kari. Fucking make the old prick retire for the love of God.

Exactly - I am following on the BBC website. The Open should always have been part of the crown jewels. The R&A should be ashamed.

Yeah I'm not watching it either, I'm not a huge watcher of the game. However I always watched the Open, having only a nowtv subscription for £20 a month. It wasn't really renewing once the footy season finished, as barley anything else on worth watching.

It's no real surprise participation levels are through the floor, especially when you consider the amount it can cost to be able to play the game as well.

It looks like Molinari is going to sneak out of the pack then. Good player and I would be delighted if he won.

It's been a captivating afternoon, if a little short on quality I all honesty. I'm gutted it's not a massive 6 under play off!

I hope Molinari wins. Incredible iron player is the Italian John Richardson.

Molinari has got it (bar a miracle from Xander on the last). Brilliant.

So happy for Shane Lowry winning the Open. He played incredible golf all weekend, and the conditions were awful today. His play from the rough was unbelievable, so many rescue shots that ended up brilliant.

Delighted for him, much happier than if that prick McIlroy won it

Well done Lowry.

Main thing I took from the four days was that Portrush is an amazing course. Would love to play it one day.

The BBC has just lost its last remaining live golf coverage rights for 2020 as Masters now 100% Sky
