The R.I.P. Thread

Kevin McCarra, former head football writer for The Guardian. Alzheimer's at just 62, simply horrible.

He was a superb journalist.

Frank Bough. I know the dungeons were a bit grim, but another bastion of my childhood. His ostracism was unfair, he died 4 days ago, that's just wrong. RIP Frank, had the double whammy of being both a great broadcaster and offering a comedy name to an 80s schoolboy

Saw this earlier, horrible news. I’d tried to find out what had happened to him previously as he just seemed to disappear which seemed odd given his status, sadly I guess this is the answer. Great writer and IMO better than anything they have now (as a writer anyway, Taylor is generally a top rate journo).

Bobby Ball, 76, covid related. Rock on...

Welsh rugby legend JJ Williams aged 72

Sean Connery 90.
If you've never seen him in The Hill check it out, possibly his finest moment

Sean Connery aged 90. Like Nobby he'd had dementia for a number of years unfortunately

There's a large part of my growing up gone :(

This year keeps getting worse. If Terry Wogan dies again then it'll just about finish me off.

As you age you realise that those who influenced/entertained you in younger days are going to go.

Now Sean Connery - agree with Keef The Hill was superb. Known mostly for Bond, but should be remembered for that & Hunt for Red October.

Also Bobby Ball (rock on) & JJW who was less than 2 yrs older than I am now!
