John Dawes played rugby...
John Dawes was the captain of the British Lions who beat the All-Blacks in NZ in 1971. I remember it vividly as if it were yesterday. A great tour, a great victory and a great captain who revolutionized the way rugby was played in the 1970s.

Think Paddy knows that....presume more a comment on the timing of previous posts.

ill top that, total eclipse of the heart is the only decent thing steinman did, bat out of hell is overblown, overlong, overrated as an album, it's terrible.
Gentleman start your abuse.

In my day if you wanted the pub to sing along at the top of it's lungs. Bat Out of Hell was the way to go

Yeah much as I love Bat Out Of Hell, its the only album he's done that I like.....a perfect combination of Meatloafs vocals/showmanship, Steinmans writing, Rundgrens production and the brilliant musicians they put together

I do like dead ringer for love, turns up, kicks ass for three minutes or so then goes, far better than 9 minutes or whatever it is banging on about his silver black phantom back and being at the bottom of a hole

Paradise by the Dashboard Light (album version) was my fav ML/Steinman track. Really clever story song.

I know musical theatre is not approved of on here but we went to see a show based around the album, we really enjoyed it, they did a great job with the music and singing....Paradise was probably my highlight, it was performed by the 'baddy' and his 'lush' of a wife....quality

I adore Paradise by the dashboard light. It’s immense.
I used to run karaoke in pubs and the first thing I did after setting up was scratch the disc that had Paradise on it. 8 minutes of drunk people who can’t sing making your ears bleed!
