The only question for me is does Southgate trust Mount (he should) to play in a CM 2 whether that be in a 3-4-3 or 4-2-3-1.
Mount can do any job in the middle really. Not sure we need players like Phillips or Dier.

When has Pickford let England down?

Whereas Pope did 24 hours ago. He isn't very good, you should let this one go.
Pope did not let England down. The ball was played to his weaker foot three times and each time he didn’t look comfortable. Hardly “letting your Country down”
Stop making such sweeping statements to suit your anti Pope agenda.
The persistent choosing of Pickford is myopic. You bang your drum, I will bang mine.

Of course he let us down, it was a dreadful pass. Yes, Stones should still do better but there's your root cause, someone who can't play at all putting a team mate in a bad position when it was a five yard ball under no pressure.

I don't have an agenda, I'm telling you he isn't very good. If Burnley got relegated (which they won't) I doubt anyone would sign him. It's you who's been bigging him up for years for no reason!

It was a horlicks from all parties but it didn’t cost England anything in the end. You move on I guess.

We want to play out from the back, Pope evidently isn't suitable for that.

I mean we can ask him to lump it down the pitch as it's all he can do, but who is he aiming for other than Kane, who isn't that great in that situation? Sterling? Grealish? Foden?

As I say bar a penalty vs Denmark (which I think was mainly Dier's fault) he hasn't done anything wrong for England.

Pickford is a bomb scare for Everton, but for some reason he isn’t for the national side.

If an international footballer isn't comfortable receiving the ball on his weaker foot then he is letting his country down. With kids growing up in football academies these days there is no excuse for it.

Call me a dinosaur. I want my keeper to
1. Stop attempts on goal
2. Command the area
3. Play out from the back.

its crazy times that playing out from the back gets you a number one spot. It’s also nonsense

Pope and Henderson are both better Goalkeepers than Pickford. Pickford has been far better for England than he has for Everton. That does not make him the best goal keeper we have.

Paddington is correct re the above. Look at the three keepers stats over two seasons in the premier league and cups. Pope and Henderson are there on merit. Pickford is a bit lucky to be picked ahead of them.

Pope and Henderson are the modern day Shilton and Clemence You can’t choose between them but they both have their flaws

I think he will move to a top 5 club somewhere. It would also be a great move for him. I see him at spurs or in Italy.

he really is a bit good. He can’t kick with his left foot , I agree but he does
Command the box
Quick off the line
Good shot stopper
Good communication
Unorthodox saves.
Wins matches with his performance

what’s not to like?

Not a hope in the world.

Sorry, which goalkeeper at these teams do you see him displacing?

Which is absolutely the right order of importance. There shouldn't however be such a drop off going down as to be detrimental to the team. In this day there is no excuse for any professional footballer in any position to have their weaker foot be a liability.
That there are some for whom it is shows a lack of application of their coaching.

I do agree he has to sort his left foot. I don’t agree he is a bang average gk. He is far better than that and I hope he gets the chance to show it for a top team.

I hate to break it to you but Tottenham Hotspur under José Mourinho are not going to replace France's captain, World Cup winner Hugo Lloris with Nick Pope.

we will see. I don’t think Pope will be at Burnley next season and if he stays in England Spurs are up there to sign him.

By the way, the best goalkeeper in the British game Allison Becker, has more errors leading to goals this season than zPope

Cyber says something, people disagree, Cyber then exagerates his point, people disagree more, Cyber doubles down, goalkeeeper gets blamed for goal that wasn't his fault, Cyber turns player into Yashin, people turn player into Hansbury.

As usual the truth sits between the two
