The Rugby Thread

That’s probably the best Wales have played but their luck finally ran out.

Ireland have a damn good record against England since 2000 .
Yesterday they played heads up Rugby and got quick ruck ball on several occasions .
England's front row was really poor I thought , giving away penalty after penalty .
They never dealt with Henshaw at all who had an outstanding match . Furlong was the star of the front row .
Murray has finally shown a return to form and Sexton kicks everything .
This has been a worrying Six Nations for England .
Do they stick or twist with Jones . .

Great game of rugby tonight, brilliant try from France just too.

Thought there was a forward pass at the start of the move (wasn’t checked) but that aside, yes a cracking try.

Anyone watch the NRL match between Tigers and Rabbitohs - late drop goal, couple of easier misses at end of game - in golden point overtime, both teams think they have scored winning try - potential knock on lead to full-length score, but TMO found original ‘knock on’ was grounded - great theatre and drama.

Lions Squad announcements tomorrow. Weird times! 12.09 for the captain and 12.28 for the squad. It will be interesting what Gatland goes for. I think the captain will be AWJ but the squad make up could be really intriguing. Good to see plenty of Scots making a case. I always like a Lions squad to have good numbers from all four nations.

Was chatting about this this evening, seems the consensus is AWJ as captain, but does he get in the team as one of the best 2 locks? Itoji will have one spot.

The Irish locks are good too and I rate Gray from Scotland too. It’s a tough position to call. Almost as hard as the back row which is insane levels of competition.

AWJ had a fantastic six nations so I think he and Itoje are the test starters for me.

An interesting one is whether May makes it. I think he should, but then one of Nowell and Rees-Zammit misses out I guess.

I’d have Rees-Zammit, but would want to find a space for May. It’s a tough selection, particularly with Scotland doing so well too.
