The Tennis Thread

Ridiculous, an achievement that I can't imagine will ever be matched, won every single match from the opening round of qualifying to the final all without dropping a set, all at 18 yo. Too good, too consistent, hits bigger groundstokes, has a top return of serve and plays better the bigger the point, hopefully the first of many more.

Some of her returns were amazeballs.

Fabulous match and Raducanu just had that little extra when it mattered.
Disappointed by the behaviour of Fernandes. She got herself back from the brink of defeat shooting from the hip with a smile on her face. The smile turned into a snarl when Raducanu was injured and it took the gloss off of 2 sets of marvellous tennis.

I thought Fernandes showed her immaturity, after all she is only 19, and showed the fragility of a teenage mental state.

I can't blame her for that, she was losing and about to be beaten she was just projecting and letting herself get upset. Probably lost her the game but not the match as Raducanu was just better throughout the game.

Think this fair comment (never thought I'd say that 😀) Also I think Raducanu learnt from her Wimbledon experience where the hype overwhelmed her, it's made her mentally tougher. There were a few times during each set where Fernández seemed to be getting on top but Raducanu was able to dig herself out.

FIFY... What a knob he is

He accused her of being a choker at Wimbledon who needed to sort the mental side out. Now he is claiming credit for her listening to him.

Why on earth would anyone read or listen to that nob about anything?
To call her a choker after coming from no-where to have a brilliant Wimbledon beggars belief, shows a real lack of knowledge about.....well anything really. He's just a clickbait tv 'personality' which is probably why I hadn't seen his comment.
The issue at Wimbledon was all the over the top hype putting her under too much pressure...led by the media

I see Novax Djocovid won his appeal against the Aussie government.

Shocking decision. The convicts should be rioting over this.

The Aussies have only got themselves to blame on this one. The really annoying thing is you could see this coming a mile off and the authorities needed to be watertight but fucked up. Djokovic’s lawyers just made mugs of the lot of them.

Hell of a difficult situation to deal with now. The Serbs will be rioting if he’s kicked out and the Aussies won’t take kindly to being made mugs of if he stays. What a cock up.
