The things that I really, really like thread...

Schools are broke at the moment. No money whatsoever.

it's an escalation of an age old tory belief that the third sector (eg charitable sources) should meet certain statutory needs. It's cheaper.

Look at the US for the fruits of that policy.

When they announced the NI rise I saw a few bits saying how it would mean the tax burden was at the highest sustained level it's been at any time since WW2.

I don't quite understand why there is no money for anything, I know we're in a shit tonne of debt dating back to 2008, and now even more with Covid. I also know the NI rise is meant to be funding the NHS backlog and then enabling millionaires pass their homes to their kids when they die, but still. Things just seem to be getting progressively worse in all areas with tax also rising. Is it just that services are more complex nowadays and therefore more expensive, is it the corporation tax cuts, I genuinely don't know.

it's a combination of political ideology (austerity didn't want to spend the money on these essential services) as well as mahoosive tax avoidance and worse by mega rich multi national corporate conglomerates. They want subsidies to build a factory/premises, they want the NHS to heal their sick, they want schools to educate their workforce, they want a transport infrastructure to move their goods and people about, but they don't want to contribute financially (via tax) to the building, maintenance and upkeep of such services.

I'm over in Lancashire visiting family and we came for a drink in Burnley town centre and the pubs are crammed as Burnley are playing at home and it's made me really miss the matchday experience, sitting in a warm pub, having an ale with the lads, everyone decked out in colours.

A free app called Xoyondo that makes arriving at a date for a group social event such a doddle.

I have a confession. I loved Betty Boo's album Boomania. Im feeling lots more confessions coming out soon.

Watched Scrooge the other day (the Albert Finney one) with my youngest daughter and at no point did I disagree with any of Scrooges actions.

Is it the 6's which turn you on?
Ha, maybe it is, perhaps that’s the guilt.

I dunno, something attractive about women in powerful positions, it’s the confidence I think.

Put it this way, Priti Patel, Ursula von der Leyden, Helen Mirren for example, all very different characters but all attractive women nonetheless and age is not a barrier to any of them either.

Ok so beauty is in the eye of the beholder and maybe it’s an age thing in myself, but I’d rather look at any of them, (Priti Patel with her three sixes included), than one of these ridiculous sleeve-tattooed, air-headed, white-toothed, orange-skinned, slug-eyebrowed, selfie-pouting oompah-loompas you see strutting about any day.

I'm staying in a hotel this weekend and decided to use the Spa this afternoon.

I went for a 90 min full body massage and it was unique because instead of having all that pan pipe and whale music shite in the background, they had a Hauntology style soundtrack - Boards of Canada, Clocolan type stuff which was ideal for me personally. I find that type of music much more evocative and it definitely helped me zone out.

Happy ending?
