Couldn't help but think everyone seemed to speak with a put on Brummie accent, like they'd hired a load of actors from London and told them to watch Peaky Blinders to get the gist.

The cultural misappropriation of the word bostin got my goat, I always had that down as a Black Country thing.

Also declaring that Denise Lewis was from Birmingham, I had to let everyone know around me that she was from bloody Wolverhampton!

Getting a nice promotion at work after 10 months of working at the place.

Some top negotiation skillz from myself as well as I a played another job offer from elsewhere off them. Only downside is that I will have to visit Milton Keynes every now and again

Nice one, its a decent enough run down on the train to MK, plus side is you will be getting off when everyone else will be getting on to.

If driving Sat Nav is your friend, the whole place is overgrown and its harder than ever to get around but its not actually that bad a place, shopping centres pretty decent

I don't think I've heard anyone from Wolves, Brum, Black Country etc actually say bostin in standard parlance. It's been misapplied to us by that bloody pizza advert in the early 90s

Bought my first house in MK back in the day, a repossession in Bradwell Common. Was the cheapest place for miles around and the repo allowed me to somehow get on the property ladder when just a kid really. Lost a lot of youthful chasing-girls-and-drinking-beer time putting all energy and resources into that but I guess paid off in the end.

Loved living there, everything was shiny and new, loads of opportunities, felt like a great time to be alive. Went past the old place a few years back and the decades haven’t been kind. The once shiny is now grey, drab and looking sorry for itself. It was always going to be interesting to see if MK improved as it matured but it hasn’t, it’s gone the other way.

No doubt some people will still love it and maybe that’s me just getting old and seeing things through a different lens, but as they say with many cities, the best thing about MK these days is the road(s) out.

Went to the Commonwealth Games at Alexander Stadium last night.

Fantastic experience, and hats off to how well it was all organised, absolutely flawless.

One note: You know how weird it is at a football game when the injury time board goes up and people start leaving, because they can't possibly wait three minutes? Well, I saw a family leave as the Paralympic 100m final competitors were taking their marks...
