Completed a 120 situational analysis test today for a potential new job. Only took 4 hours.

I didn't know that there was 120 situations in the world and neither buying ciggies or taking a dump were in the 120.

Don't, I'm still getting flashbacks of steps to take if Gurpreet tells me his manager isn't giving him credit for work done, or Sandra is having marital problems, leading to a drop in productivity.

You should come and spend some time at the place I'm at, spent the last four days in the warehouse despatch as need to rewrite their SOPs, my God do they moan, everything is a drama, they're in fear of making mistakes but still make them, their company moto should be 'Why send one email when thirty will do?' and if they spent half the man hours they spend apportioning blame to resolving situations things would run a whole lot smoother !

I’m minded of the phrase ‘Success has a million authors, failure is an orphan’.

Shithouse companies with bad leadership.

Ordered some bits for my motorbike on Tuesday, was a bit nervous as they had to come from Holland, wondered if it would take weeks to come and if I'd have to stump up extra carriage/handling charges due to the brexit fuck ups but they arrived today with no issues ( were due yesterday but delayed due to weather). Happy with the service from the suppliers and DHL. Dunno if I've just been lucky or they're starting to sort out the paperwork issues.

Things are moving, it's the bulk items(containers etc) that are being delayed, it's still as big a shit show as it was before (y)

Well, today I've met the best person ever.

He's a Lord, he wears the worst wig ever, a purple suit and cravat. He's got 5 sons, 3 called John and 2 called Tom (I didn't delve into how many are step sons), he's been married 3 times and is "looking for numbers 4 and 5, currently".

Anyway, he had a diabetic turn just before lunchtime and the paramedics were called. When he came around, he asked the paramedic to go and an all expenses paid cruise with him and gave her his business card.

He's about 80 and still a force of nature. Great day.

Converted my desk to an electrically adjustable standing desk. Small things, but going to make me happy every day :)
how've you done that mate? since starting wfh I've been working standing up. built up a tall stand. think I need to amend it slightly, as got a bit of elbow strain as the keyboard is too high. got a bar stool to sit on for meetings etc.

Bought one of these - not cheap, but I had a bit of spare cash after selling a rowing machine. I'm going to be working from home forever, so it'll get lots of use.

Edit - with link this time Lubvlook Electric Stand up Desk Frame, Adjustable Height Sit Stand Home Office Standing Desk Base, Black: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

First week working with Facebook was great. Extremely tightly run operation, far better than Google!
Lots of similarities and lots of differences.

The main difference being that with Google, once you logged into your Google account, you were logged in to everything - gmail, drive, calendar, sheets, slides, photos etc. Same as on an Android phone - once you are logged into your Google acct, you're logged into the full suite of products.

With Facebook, you have to log into every tool and product individually! It's like they dont have a cloud. So I have to use my FB email and password every time I log in to my FB business email, my CRM, the knowledge base, spreadsheets etc....
Highly annoying as I used to have to log in once a day and I had access to everything but now I have to log in to 5 or 6 tools a day and it requires email and password every time!
