£12m + more than £6m in wages for three years @ £40k/wk + signing on fee + pay off (based on £70k/wk). Knock off what his loan clubs have paid though I doubt Melbourne City, Central Coast Mariners or Motherwell were contributing too much.

Bet he's ended up costing them close to £20m all in. 3 goals in 20 games.

He gave us the mental image of Steve Bruce climbing his electronic gates though so for that we should all be grateful.

ETHERIDGE BID REJECTED'

Newly-promoted Aston Villa have had an £8m offer for Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge rejected, according to the Daily Mail.

Cardiff reportedly want over £10m for the 29-year old and have already turned down another similar bid from Championship rivals Fulham.

He is utter pap. Villa don't seem to be able to pick a keeper at all. McLeish decided to get rid of Friedel for an ancient Shay Given and it's only gone downhill from there.

Man, that's bad. They're all at best Ikeme level.

The one they signed in January looked good....until he played for them.

Remember the young lad we saw for their U23s down here?

One minute in..."this keeper is fucking rubbish".

Aye. First bit of basic work he made hard work of it. He never improved.

Etheridge has been decent this year

Not for me. He's had that David Marshall thing (even maybe Hennessey in 2011/12) where if you give a vaguely competent keeper enough work to do, he will make some good saves along the way.

However, he kicks like a girl, can't command his box, lets in tons of soft goals and has no presence at all.

Will Norris is a better keeper than him. Easily.

I thought Etheridge looked good last season but as mentioned some of it is probably down to the fact he was very busy.

He's not terrible though.

Eriksen after a 'step up' from Tottenham. Very good player, but I'm not convinced he's Real/Barca material as he frequently goes missing.
