Very cool watching the commonwealth mountain biking on trails that I’ve run on - wish I’d got tickets now.

Bit odd they they don’t have massive tyres and huge suspension as I see most weekends on there though ;)

Will have to cycle into the centre of brum Fri, and may need to do so regularly from late September onwards. Guess I will be able to check out all the infrastructure!

Amazing that the mountain biking course is staying for public use with properly qualified trainers there for helping the public utilise the course properly. Now THAT is a games legacy. If you can hire a bike up there as well I would be all over trying to have a go before I head south of the equator.

Couldn't quite make heads nor tails of the MTB course from the little bit I watched, was only one bit that I thought I recognized but looked like they were doing it backwards compared to it's usual public use. If that's the case imagine it's pretty disruptive to the normal trails and will continue to be so if it's staying in place a while.

Have considered getting some MTB tutelage in the past though, I tackle almost any obstacle with the grace of a fridge plummetting down a flight of stairs, so would be interested to have a look at that if I found myself down that way before it's gone. Saying that I've never managed to wipe out quite as badly as that Scottish did on a mundane bit of grass, or snapped my derailleur clean off either.

Just watched the women’s time trial coming down Gospel End Road. Seriously quick. Now off to see the men in Sedgley.

Managed to be second at the first split time although half a minute behind.
