Taken up the back stairway into a cordoned off room.We were behind a wall of screen, virtually floor to ceiling. I really do understand the measures in p!ace, I really do, but feels like you are visiting someone in prison.

The worst part when MIL kept repeating that she was frightened..Asked us to take that ' stuff off your faces ' we said we cant, not allowed to. She then asked for a cuddle, hug and a kiss off her son and he had to say ' I can't mom, I'm not allowed to today ' A nurse came in and hugged MIL and said ' that is off your son ' 😞

Not a happy experience but knowing she is being looked after and protected as best as they can is all we can ask for.

Right match night, and I have a nice bottle of red and hoping for at least a point 😊

Sounds like a horrible experience for all, suppose there's no alternative though that will keep her safe. Is it wrong of me to feel relieved that my MIL passed away 12 months ago?

just read that debenhams are winding down their stores. add that to arcadia and that's 25000 people losing their jobs in 24 hours.

Keep your chin up mate, something will come along for you, it may be later rather than sooner but something always comes along.

Have you considered doing something totally different than your old career for a while?

You will find something. You will get a chance. We believe in you, and want you to do so too.
mrs jelly has had struggles after being made redundant in feb 2019. she hasn't found anything yet, but I know she will.
The biggest thing affecting her is her independence, or lack of atm. She's never been dependent on anyone, so clearly doesn't want the status quo to remain.
It's obviously a challenging time with limited vacancies appearing, but stay alert.
 
there will be an end PPB/Tru. We'll then just be moaning about some other shit...

There is a way out, it would be easier if the powers that be hadn't messed up the last 10 months but they have, and here we are. Still though, vaccinations fix it. That gets sorted and this gets kicked away.

I can then get back to moaning to the bastard council that there are now TWO massive potholes within about 200 yards of my house and they're both fucking dangerous. One is right on a junction. They've been there for ages, I've told them numerous times, they don't do anything.

I'm less than happy with the current situation but we are significantly nearer the end than the start. More through luck than judgement on the Government's part (and the damage has been vastly greater than it should have been) and the next 2-3 months are likely to be really shit, but support is 100% there.

All about app ordering and table service, man. If one tiny good consequence of this shitshow comes about...it could be me never ever ever queuing at a bar again!
