Things that make you SAD thread.

In terms of the profit margin my store saw vs. the company is what I meant.

Also, the coffee there does taste like diesel, so...

Is a mass none paying of bills possible? I was barely 6 for the Poll Tax stuff but saw Martin Lewis warning there could be a 'consumer strike' if steps aren't taken to get prices under control.

Hyperbole or do we think these cunts laughing at us posting billions in profit might wake the country up?

Well austerity has stripped back the courts systems, so perhaps a consumer strike ain't a bad idea!
In all seriousness, given profits are so high, perhaps we can strip these companies of the ridiculous government subsidies they get.

Not just that just tax the fuckers.

If they won't pay the tax strip them of their licenses to pull it out of the sea and give it to somebody that will and for zero profit.

The petroleum companies are a blight on mankind, pure evil.

That’s our Prime Minister’s boss, show some respect.

So just spoke to my niece, funeral arrangements for my sister have been set.
Looks like I'll be back home for a week or so, probably from 19th Aug thru 27th.

Note left by a classmate for that young girl stabbed in Boston

"‘You were the bestest friend. Hopefully you are now with the angels in a better place. You are probably watching Harry Potter."

Im 56 years old, father of three and Grandfather of six.

I cried at work today

My eldest just informed us he and his family are moving to Fife in 3 months. Sad for us but he's excited ( he and us have always liked Scotland)
Be a bit further from Newport than Shrewsbury but I suppose you have to let them go, hopefully they'll all be happy
At least it gives us a nice place to visit and a cheap overnight when we go up to the Highlands.

The impact is so horrendous mate. Similarly, we had a colleague carry out the same action not long ago. The impact on the family, as well as what they must have been going through in the preceding days is phenomenal. Makes me feel so sad.

A couple of years ago, my wife (who works as a tax consultant) was advising a bloke who had fairly severe tax liabilities and had 3 daughters but had recently lost his wife. She set up a plan with him which he agreed to, contacted the Revenue and got approval, which got them off his back. 3 days later, he walked off the end of the platform at Balbriggan (where the line immediately crosses a viaduct over the harbour) holding a rope, which he tied around his neck and climbed over the railing and fell....
Every fucker saw the poor bloke dangling there and filled up Social Media with bloody photographs.
Ghastly!
And the consequences for his 3 kids...? God only knows.
Absolutely desperate thing to do.
And never the right thing.
Though I accept he wouldn't have seen it like that.

Desperately shortsighted this:

Fair to say the World Service has kept me sane at times over the years, not the news programmes (Blair causeds the move to more frequent news with the Iraq War IIRC) but the documentaries, music, chat shows and even soaps (loved a bit of Westway).

BBC local radio will be next after they’ve made our glorious leader look a cunt this morning
