Time Wasting

I certainly wouldn't glory in it, it's a necessary evil to an extent but nothing to be proud of.
I do have to make myself clear here, I hate time wasting, feigning injury, general cuntism, but I love the fact they got a taste of their own medicine yesterday (albeit a 5ml spoon compared the 10ml spoon they gave us in September) and the gnashing and wailing from their manager and fans just made it all the better. I ain't gonna be feeling bad about that.

To be fair, yesterday I'd say Brentford wasted as much of their own time as we did due to how long it would take them to dry the ball and set up for the long throw!
Totally agree, there was one throw at 1-1 that they took an age over, it felt like they were playing for a draw at that point.

I think there was only 6 minutes of injury time at Molineux? And 7 yesterday? That's ridiculous, especially when you factor in a red card and the laughable stoppage for the gloves at Molineux.

There's nothing wrong with giving another team a real good dose of their own medicine, with no spoonful of sugar to help it go down!

The stuff at Molineux was unreal but that was down to the ref more than Brentford. If the ref allows you to be fuckers, do it.
The one that boiled my piss was them making a sub and he was told to go off by the Bully Stand. He started to walk off, then turned back to speak to a teammate...he did that 4 or 5 times and the ref let it happen.
As with everything in football, if you can get away with it you will do it.
No different to Berra spending his career at Wolves wrestling attackers to the floor at every corner and us losing our shit as one day he will concede a penalty (luckily for Christophe VAR didn't exist). Rules pushed to the max and in some cases over the line but allowed to carry on because the ref is weak/shit

Yep that’s it really. That ref let them do anything. Not a warning or anything.

But now as soon as Sa takes more than a few seconds placing the ball (in any game) and the ref is already instantly giving him a warning. Whereas they take about 30 seconds of every throw in (winning losing or drawing) and no one cares.

When you have success, people are going to find ways to minimize it.

We're playing within the rules, anyone who supports another club and gives us shit over this can get fucking fucked.

How easy was it to sit on your hands and what was the general atmosphere towards the actions of the Wolves players. Covering the game for Fivelive was Alistair Bruce Ball and he happened to cover the game earlier in the season. He stated something along the lines that any complaints from the Brentford fans were a bit rich due to the actions of their own players at Molineux.
There was a big group of wolves fans near me anyway who celebrated both goals! I was in a media bit I think though so they got some disapproving looks but got away with it.

the people around me weren’t that arsed but behind our goal second half we’re getting quite pissed off about it

This. The referee has all the tools at their disposal to deal with it. It is an offence that can be punished by a yellow card and the time wasted can be added to the end of the half. Teams will do this until they are “refereed” to stop it. I don’t think it is a Wolves problem or particularly deserving of a thread. And Sa’s shithousery was fun to watch.

Would be happy to see a league-wide crackdown on 'shithousery' in general, esp. the persistent rotational fouls City seem to excel at. The ball is in play for far too little time, and unless you watch other sports quite a bit then I'm not sure football fans really know how bad it has become.

I don't like that Wolves do it, but as long as opponents are using it to their advantage against us and getting away with it then I suppose it's here to stay

The City tactical foul is really annoying. A clear tactic and PGMOL do nothing.

Award a corner every time they do it to break up a turn-over in possession

I'm not sure on the exact rule but in NBA after the team has made a certain amount of fouls collectively, every single foul thereafter is a free throw. Could adapt that somehow.

It's 5 per team each quarter, and is absolutely something that should be looked at. Not sure what could be awarded though -corner? Free-kick at the halfway line?

Removing players for a few minutes like in hockey is pointless because the playing area is so much bigger in football
