He has to stand trial in the Senate first and it's unlikely that Mitch McConnel will act that quickly.

Part of the impeachment includes a vote based on the 14th Amendment which, if passed, will ban Trump for ever standing for office again

No. Senate trial now and Mitch McConnell who is republican majority leader of the senate and a part time touché turtle impressionist will not call back the senate until Trump is out of office and Schumer becomes majority leader for the democrats.

Touches comments today suggest a possibility that they may quietly move for a conviction.

Unfortunately convicted impeachment doesn't preclude Ivanka from running which given she's the one going to the inauguration is presumably their play. It'll be interesting to see what happens, the Trump brand is too tainted to get elected again, but that doesn't stop them from getting the nomination. See Corbyn in the UK as an example of a party doing the electorally unwise.

Still being popular with his base will he be ostracised? Will be be convicted now with Republican Senators having to vote against him although I'm sure they'll be a couple who do. As Dennison says I bet a lot won't publicly say anything irrespective of their private feelings for risk of damaging their own brand. Where will the MAGA feeling be in 2 1/2 years when the cycle starts again?

For him to be convicted at the Senate, after Jan 20th, 17 Republicans will have to vote with the Democrats. It will be very close

Best thing would be ban him and any of his family from ever holding office anywhere, just to stop ivanka, don Jr. And the other one from standing in 2024, that would properly hurt trump and stop the dynasty he so wants
