From the newly released notes from a phone call between trump and Acting Attorney General Jeff Rosen on December 27:

"just say that the election was corrupt + leave the rest to me"

If I were Rosen I would have been seriously tempted to immediately leak that comment. But if he had done so, it would have been an excuse for trump to fire him and replace him with a supporter who would have said exactly what trump wanted.
