Trump

Nothing says "successful businessman" to me like a man who decides to launch a brand of steaks bearing his name and then sell them exclusively at a shop which primarily offers electronic goods and air purifiers.

Funnily enough it failed like most of his ventures.

Absolutely. He may not have a great legacy but he was a superb and more importantly believable speaker. I can't remember a politician that spoke with such conviction, gravitas and charisma.

Trump is a shambolic mess by comparison, the shouty kid at the back of the class that's never had to work because daddy said so. A weapons grade prick.
Agree with that, long time since I was so impressed by a speaker, Obama was class in tha aspect.. Trump just shouts all the time

Hillary Clinton looks like she might have been quite successful at doing business. She might have to go in front of a court for it yet!

Hillary is an irrelevance now, Donnie hasn't realised this yet as he's still using the strategy of "But Hillary".

We're on about if he's a good speaker (he isn't, he's one of the worst I've ever heard) or a good businessman (he unequivocally isn't). He's the President elect, everything's on him now. As SLA says, if you don't want an utter cretin running his mouth 24/7 then don't vote for him or support him. Blaming others or pointing out the inadequacies of his opponents is meaningless.

Listen to him next time he holds a press conference and try to decipher his answers to straightforward questions. He literally makes no sense most of the time.

Leave and Remain both had good and bad points.

Trump is a serial business failure who confessed to sexually assaulting women. If you endorse him to be President then you need to justify that.

Exactly this. I may have voted for remain in the referendum but I could still understand why some people chose to vote leave.

I cannot understand why anyone would vote for Donald Trump, even as a protest vote. Surely to do so is to excuse his behaviour and his deplorable attitudes towards others?

That's the thing, very few people actually DO listen to what is being said.

I personally don't think he is a good speaker nor is he a good businessman - but I do think he projects the image of both. I do think that when he speaks he presents utter confidence in his own abilities and if you don't listen to the crap he's spouting I could understand how people would want him to represent them.

As you say though, if people don't listen to the crap he's saying and still vote for him then it's on them....all of it, every single repercussion

It would be a great laugh and entertainment during his presidency, if he wasn't in charge of so many nuclear weapons.

The closer it gets the more difficult to comprehend its going to be President Trump, its really beyond comprehension that such a buffoon can become the most powerful man on earth.

Is he worse than this bloke. Another man of books.
“One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures.” George W. Bush

Makes Bush look like one of the great philosophers. Trump reminds me of the bad guys in a super hero movie parody.

i think Putin clearly has much greater claims to be the most powerful man on earth compared to any US president. 2016 has certainly greatly strengthened him.

it's hard not to smile when trump continually says "believe me", and without any hint of irony.

I doubt it will sink in until the Inauguration, god help America.

Putin's rise and the USA's fall as the first superpower will be the legacy of Obama. It is no good being a good speaker and being the moviestar's favourite. His weakness and inactivity in Crimea and Syria will be his Legacy and also one of the main reasons the electorate decided for a tough talking and in your face President., who is capable of doing anything, which is a little scary!

Because unilateral US intervention has worked so well in the past 50 years or so.

It's not Obama's job to be telling Russia what they can and can't do in matters that are wholly outside of the United States' sphere and territory. That's what the United Nations is for.

America are not the world's police and when they try to be it almost always ends very badly.
