Welcome Bruno Lage

Are we thinking more the rapid progression of Vitinha, Silva, RAN & MGW (if all here) rather than suddenly turning Corbs into Joao Felix Mk2.

Chuck in signing a few younger players to replace the likes of Mout. So players who have played games but age wise would be eligible for our U23's

I can see him liking Otasawie personally, because I think he's a very promising young player and physical attributes can count for a lot in the PL. Maybe even Corbeanu too.

Yes, I hope so, but even of the 4 you mention, Vitinha has promise, but needs time to develop imo, jury is still out on MGW, Fabio needs another season, although playing in a 2 will help. RAN I think is first team ready with some defensive coaching. Also worth remembering we don't actually own 2 of them and it would appear doing so would take a reasonable portion of our budget

Interesting, personally I have more doubts about RAN than MGW and I'm hoping Fabio will improve quickly playing next to Raul (if thats the formation)
I still think RAN will be ok but for me he still looks a bit lacking in confidence, also when he's going forward he looks like he's one step away from tripping over the ball sometimes. Think we saw enough in the latter part of the season from MGW to suggest in his best position he can be a good Premier league player

I’m all for playing young players but we need some seasoned players in the team as well. If Neves and Moutinho do leave we need some experienced players as replacements. Reliance on too many youngsters woud be a huge mistake. If the powers that be really think we can fill the team with 21 year olds that will increase in value they are deluded. RAN, Gibbs White, Hoever, Silva and Vitinha won’t reach their potential if they don’t have some wise old heads around them.

We see things very differently! RAN, to me, will easily be good enough to be a PL player - MGW hasn’t shown anything that wouldn’t be seen a level below.

Yeah its just me that has doubts, thats not to say I don't think he's got potential, he obviously has, hopefully he'll alleviate those doubts as the season goes on but for me at this stage of his development he's no better than Vinagre was when we sent him out.....perhaps its my Fred-Reece moment😃

No doubt he was inconsistent and switched off at key defensive moments. Utds first goal in the last game of the season being a prime example. If he's still doing the 'Iorfa' in another year then I think I'd be worried, at the moment I'm of the view you can coach that out of him. He improved as the season went on and that's promising

Without much surgery we've got the makings of a decent side with 442. Assuming that's what he goes with. Donk was shit last year but he's well capable of sitting in front of the back 4. Lage is meant to like fbs to attack which will suit ours down to the ground. His inverted wingers is perfect for Podence, Neto and Traore and Silva is happier in a 2. The main surgery needed will be in central defence. Unless of course Neves goes.

Rui
Semedo Boly Coady RAN
Neves Donk
Podence Neto
Silva Jimenez

That side would be 4-3 every week, just depends how many fall the right way

Based on what? 442 means nothing without knowing how you would set up within it.

If Neves leaves, Donk/Saiss at CM?

We'd more than likely have to buy someone. Luis is prime suspect.

I certainly think we will see Saiss back a midfield option next season.

Leeds play a winger in CM, a shit winger at LB. They only conceded 2 more goals than a team regularly playing 7-0-3?
You are comparing the side who are used to covering the most ground to the one who covers the least. That'd be a massive pre season job you are looking for.

Anyway I don't think it's particularly relevant as if that is the formation we go with I don't think it'd be with that central midfield or central defence.
