Welcome Hwang Hee-Chan

I don't see what Keane has said was wrong. Chan has a poor goalscoring record and we are desperate for goalscorers.
Yep, it was a perfectly reasonable and obvious observation, especially in the context of the conversation where they were talking about our lack of goals.

Watching some of this, his finishing looks quite decent and a bit like Podence. Were there additional circumstances last year that contributed to his scoring record, I.e. where was he played?

Someone mentioned he had long Covid

He only started 5 times in all competitions, 3 in the league and 2 in the cup. Leipzig quite often would go without a centre forward and Nagelsmann preferred others in the supporting positions so it’s not cut and dried.

See this makes far more sense. I watched the video (I know, I know) and thought there was a pretty good player in there. Let's see if his style suits the Prem, and whether he can rediscover some form. I'm guessing he is mostly an option from the bench unless we are suddenly moving to a 4-2-3-1 or similar (maybe with a quality CB signing we might).

For the time being I am less concerned about his goals record than the fact he looks quick and difficult in the way he moves in channels, drops between the lines. If two forwards is the way for Lage, or even just when chasing I would rather a player like that and then either Raul or Silva, than Raul and Silva.

There were signs yesterday of a fluid front 3 and I wonder if this is what Bruno wants from these players. Chan certainly has the pace and strength to be a part of that.

Yeah I spotted that, when Adama appeared to spend his time central and Raul had drifted to the left.

Yup, saw this too. Which may suggest that Adama has been given a responsibility that takes the load off Raul perhaps whilst he is getting back up to speed, and on the last two games Adama has been spent after 70 minutes, so to have the option with Chan makes sense
With Trincao, Pod, MGW and Fabio our forward line looks strong and with Neto to return it gives us the depth needed if we treat the cup competitions with some respect.
Hope that Chan can just find his feet quickly and find the net sooner

Just a quick write up on Hwang.
I posted this quite hastily thinking I'd need to do my research on a couple of new signings.... more fool me

After this shit show of a transfer window, he really, really needs to be good and hit the ground running. If he turns out he Willian Jose mark II, we are fucked…

At least Hwang can run, he'll put himself about and he's got quality as he showed at Salzburg. Good option off the bench or even to pair with Raul with the latter dropping deep and Hwang offering in behind. If he can capture some of that CL form he could be a superb bit of business. Win win really.

Opposed to Jose can't run won't run, lazy bastard.

Just had a quick look to see if 3 goals gets Hwang into the upper echelons on the top scorer charts. Certainly nice and high but what stands out is that Hwang has 100% shot accuracy, and 100% chance conversion! Deadly.

If I make it over this season I will call the police on anyone who calls him "Jackie" in my presence.

Got a reputation to uphold, you see.

Adrian Durham has been raving about him this evening on Drive and saying that our £13m option to buy could be the 'bargain of the century'
