Welcome Jose Sa

I like him. Has pulled off some impressive stops, I like how proactive he is with danger and his kicking is miles better than what we have had from previous keepers - important to the way we play now and hopefully even moreso if Lage is able to develop the style.

He's a bit of a shithouse which I can't say I like and does have his nervy moments (I can see DW's point to an extent - does seem to have at least one dodgy moment most games currently), but on current showings he is absolutely an improvement on last season's version of Patricio who does appear to have gone on the decline. Would love to see him save a pen, especially considering how many we have given away since the start of last season.

Some girls' mothers are bigger than other girls' mothers...

I am a Sa fan as you know but he goes really early on penalties. He commits to a side a half second too soon for me . He sorts that and he will stop some .

Posted this on the first page of this thread (also really enjoyed reading through some of the comments on the first couple of pages, this morning… 😂) shortly after Sa signed and I reckon it’s not much longer before Jose claims that number 1 shirt for Portugal. You simply cannot perform to the level he has been on a regular basis in the best league in the world and not play for your international team sooner rather than later. Especially when the alternatives aren’t as good.

Coads had his say on Sa after yesterdays game. Not only is he a fantastic goalkeeper, he seems like a top character in the dressing room. Love that he legged it up the length of the pitch to celebrate with his captain -

So far so good in pre season. Once he gets used to the defence I think he will be even better. I like his footwork , even though it scares me and I like the fact he is always looking for a quick counter. I love the speed off his line and the fact he comes for crosses when he can. In Lages system he could be a real asset. 6m seems very good value
Six months on and unusually one of my posts has aged very well 🤣

I was unsure when we signed him (and Bruno) but was always gunna give him time to prove himself......so far him (and Bruno) have exceeded my expectations, long may it continue.

Lycan in particular having to eat his words from those first couple of pages.

He's been a big upgrade on Rui, and the club got it spot on getting rid at exactly the right time.

Coady would call his milkman incredible, he really really would ;)

Loved seeing Jose Sa up the other end of the pitch joining in the celebration for Coady's goal too

Going to caveat this with ‘I wasn’t able to see Matt Murray at his best (or at all really)’… but I’m going to say Sa is the best keeper I’ve seen at wolves.

I think the sample size is too small, but if half a season becomes 2/3 then I think you will be correct. His shot stopping is up there with Murray's, his command of the area, although good isn't as good, neither is his throwing, but his distribution with his feet is in a different stratosphere.

Big call from Tredders. Wish he hadn’t blocked me so I could tell him I admire his balls out statement and that he could well be right.

It's great he's only 28 too, could easily have another 8 years in him at the top level.

He isn't. Murray was absolute mustard. England keeper for sure if it wasn't for the injuries.
