Welcome to Wolves - Conor Coady

I mean not all of us to a man, well not all of the time anyway.

There is a lot of "should have stayed and fought for his place" out there, which doesn't stand up to much scrutiny.
Ridiculous isn’t it. Imagine Lage has said 4 at the back, you’re not a starter. He could stay and fight for his place, but at 29, 3 months away from a major international tournament where his stock is relatively high, I really don’t blame/begrudge him at all, as you’d think it’s potentially his last major international tournament he could go to.

A great servant of the club, got every last bit of ability out of himself for us and as we’re going in a different direction leaves with best wishes.

On Coady, his agent has posted on Twitter thanking Wolves for "acting with integrity, when it was clear he wasn't in the managers plans"
Rocking the Alice band.

Looks like Vinny Clark having a midlife crisis

He won’t be able to play in that game. That’ll have to wait until next season (if they take up the option to buy) and hope we’re still in the same league as them!
i know, but i'm sure he will be there with the squad, and hopefully the Wolves fans give him a decent round of applause.

Hoping he’s not renewed his family box in the Billy Wright Stand. I can’t see Vinny giving him a refund if he has.

Coady on Talksport Breakfast just now:

Hated pre-season, always training, always available but could sense something was coming

Keeps hearing that he has left because of the WC but that’s not the case

He’s 29 and wants to play all the time

Speaking to Frank was great, could tell he believed in him

Hated it at Leeds sat on the bench

Absolutely Loves Wolves the football club

Last few weeks have been tough, had a feeling that things weren’t right

Appreciative of Wolves for letting him go like they have, a special club with special people but he wanted to be at Everton

That was definitely the vibe of what he was saying yes and he never referred to him at all during the whole interview, only to special people around the club

That along with Saiss' little dig yesterday does make you think if there are some disgruntled people around the place.

As fans the natural reaction is to defend the club and chalk it up to outgoing players that were disgruntled after losing their place/not being offered a new deal but there have been a couple of other warning signs that probably need to be kept an eye on recently.

Any centre half I would expect would take umbridge at being told they're incapable of playing in a 2 on a consistent basis. Even more so when you've played there for your country, and more so further still when it's coming from Lage; who doesn't come across as a great particularly great communicator.

My take on it is that at the start of pre-season Bruno made it clear that 4 at the back would be the way forward. Coady said he sensed something was coming so I doubt anyone has been told outright they can't play it or are surplus to requirements. But he's just left Coady out completely which has sent the message in itself.

Probably why Saiss thinks he deserved better, because Coady hasn't even been given a go in a back four this pre-season, other than with the U23s. Or even been spoken to about it in all likelihood. Just been left out.

Im sad about it all but it doesn't sound like Lage has said anything different to him than what's been said by 90% of Wolves fans on various forums.

The interview has once again torn people apart, my take on it whether he hasn't bothered trying to fight for his place or not, the splitting up of the central defence in Coady and Boly was long overdue.

Literally one PL game out of the team and then gets a cushy (for him and Everton) loan, don't think Conor can complain too much, he's hardly been bombed out and left to rot while we play hardball with prospective suitors...

He seems adamant it isn't because of the WC which is what most of us thought was driving it. If that's the case it does feel a bit toys out of the pram.

That's what it sounds like to me too.

I'm not sure that's not an edict from the top as Saiss nor Ruddy particularly got great send offs. It's a shitty way to do things regardless.

But then change happens and I'm glad we are changing.

Hopefully change owners at some point.

Not sure what send off we could give Coady that is better than getting him a quick and easy move. Not like we can do what we did with Ruddy and give him one last start before he left.

Are we meant to do an open top bus for him from Molineux to Goodison? I'm sure we will go to town on the tributes when he returns in May (or in the next round of the League Cup...yes I know he won't be playing but he will be at the game)
