Welcome to Wolves John Ruddy

Solid if not spectacular signing. Here's hoping he just needs a change of scenery and can get the form that got him his England cap 5 years ago back.

There has been a group of Wolves fans crying out for "Championship experience", well - this guy has loads of that and has played in the Premier League AND for his National side. We can't turn our noses up at that. An experienced head at the back behind a completely new defence is exactly what we need. Plus he didn't cost us anything (wages aside).

Another good bit of business in my book. Welcome aboard, John.

Very happy with this signing for all the reasons Jinky outlined above. Some desperately needed experience, I think.

Yep, decent signing I think. He reckons he is in best shape he has been in years, let's hope that is right because at his best he could be one of the best keepers in the division.

We are looking healthy at the back now. Doherty and Batth will be on their way I reckon.

Happy with this.

Not every signing needs to be a champagne signing so to speak.

I'd still look to add a second goalkeeper, first choice or reserve though.

Agree with all of that. It's a very good signing and hopefully Ruddy can adapt and bond quickly with our new look back line and develop a good relationship.

I am delighted with our transfer business this summer. A clearout of the deadwood at the heart of our defence was a must, and it's actually happened.

Obviously, with what has happened to Carl being a real setback, we needed a new keeper asap, but we have got a mixed bag record of signing quality keepers in the last few years.

Emi and Kuszcak were more than decent, but Flatt, McCarey and Lonergan didn't work out, for whatever reasons. So to land Ruddy is a good signing and one that Im optimistic about.

What a difference a month makes. Still can't quite believe this is happening.

Very happy with that. Brand new back five - it's what we all wanted. Let's see how they perform...

Welcome to Wolves John.

Should be a good signing. Not many clubs in this division would turn their nose up at John Ruddy, even if he has suffered from a dip in form recently.

I'm definitely happy with this. An experienced upgrade from last season on a free transfer. Not a lot to complain about there really.

I've got to be honest here - as much as I respect his reputation, I can't say I've ever watched him outside of Wolves-Norwich games.

What's he like? Considering we're definitely going to be trying to play more technical football, is his distribution good? Does he like to kick it long or roll it along the floor?

Decent enough signing - a bit of experience, an upgrade on last season. I agree with Deutsch who said we need to be looking at better, but I'm satisfied with this for now.

New Wolves, new back line. Just need another LB (Heise?) and I think we're sorted at the back.

Welcome John, decent signing and can be very good if he is back to his best..

Ruddy is a massvie upgrade on Lonergan (not a hard task to upgrade on him though)

Interesting to see if we sign a replacement for Ikeme or if Ruddy Jnr can impress enough on the tour of Austria

Good signing and an upgrade. He also has the capability to improve. Nice to have a former Cambridge man here again aka Jody Craddock. It gives some of the Cambridge locals a bit of interset in my team! If he has the same impact on us as Green did at Leeds last year I for one will be very very happy. Welcome to Wolves.

Yep, decent keeper, lets hope he settles in quickly with his new team mates
