Welcome to Wolves Ki-Jana Hoever

Welcome to the lad, coming from Liverpool he won't be shit and their fans seem to really rate him. I thought initially he was a young right sided Marcal but it seems he left Liverpool to play more first team football so maybe he'll be number one for rwb

Even as back up he would have more chance here. Neco Williams is the clear pretender to Trent so his way to the first team was totally blocked by two young players.

If he's half as successful as our last Liverpool academy alum I'll take it.

I reckoned defending wise he is already a Doc upgrade [emoji23]

He’s scored some cracking headers so it could work with him going into the box like doc with Traore staying wide

Luke Matheson can't be a happy boy today, sadly...

Why? Plan will always have been for him to start with U23s

A player bought at the same age for the same position? Hardly enhances his first team prospects in the future.

Sounds like there is still plenty of flexibility in regards to his long term position when it comes to Hoever, he's perhaps more ready than Matheson in the next season or two to play a supporting role to the first team in that wingback position but then he may move to a more central position at a similar time that Matheson is considered ready for first team consideration.

Matheson is a year younger, has come from a totally different background for a totally different fee. There’s no way matheson signed thinking he was going straight into our first team squad.

If Matheson was part of our first team plans he'd be getting game time now and not Oskar Buur.

Kid is built like a 14 year old girl. He might be really talented but he'd be tossed around like a chew toy in the Premier League. It'll be a while before he's ready.

He wouldn’t have been ahead of Buur at this point anyway (IMO).

As Sam said, physically he’s got a lot of development in him. U23s for a few months is a good place for him IMO and then a decent loan move after January

Signing Matheson as a 17 year old is no different to us signing Lonwijk et al.

They hope we can convert them into PL players, more likely they will hope to sell them at a profit.

Wouldn’t he? Not checked but they’ve probably played similar amounts of professional games.

He's played more games than Hoever too, that doesn't mean he should be ahead of him.
