Welcome to Wolves: Rayan Ait-Nouri

It was €20m before Spiers claimed it in ££.

Hopefully only to dye his beautiful mop orange.

Nah

Number one all over.

Old man! :eek:ldboy::eek:ldboy::eek:ldboy:

I know nothing about him. Never seen him play.
Is he one for now or the future

Well he's very young but played a lot more first teams games than the other youngsters that we've signed. He looked very good the other night against PSG so I would expect him to start the next few games, maybe sharing lwb with Marcal depending on how Nuno wants that position played

Another exciting signing - looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the squad. Great to see that we have options down the left now - when everyone is fit, it does look like we've sorted the wing back positions on both sides.

Great windows, welcome Rayan! Thanks Jeff!

So, would we have been better keeping with Vinagre?

Don't think Ait-Nouri is ready to be playing every week. If Jonny or Marcal were fit he wouldn't be in the team.

Not sure if he's done enough on evidence so far to pay the 20m for him but if the club were of the same mindset as with Fabio - and he's just been thrust into playing more than he other wise would due to injuries they might do the deal anyway

Rayan is more than two years younger, too.

I didn't think Vinagre was doing as badly as suggested but he clearly needed to move on.

I'm excited by what RAN has to offer, his quality in final third is a great deal better than Ruben's too.

I agree too, just seems that the stats don't really back that up. A lot of what I read (and think) about RAN seems massively familiar to thoughts about Vinagre when he first joined (including the early goal too IIRC..)

RAN has also played as an actual left back too, and in tougher circumstances where the team is all over the place at times. So while the minutes are similar they are both such small samples it is hard to get a good enough picture.

Agree with Dean that we need Marcal/Jonny fit. Just like the situation with Fabio. Personally I'd pay for him, as I think the club will anyway. I think both him and Vitinha were options rather than obligations purely from a worst case scenario financially, I think they trust in the ability/potential of both

I think the ceiling is higher than Vinagre although I've not seen enough to invest that much - 4 times the price (I think) to do a similar job when Jonny is fit. Then again it's not my money

I am a huge fan of stats and analytics, however the old style "eye scout" in me recognises the intangibles that Alt has, he looks a much better player and defender than Vinagre. I'd also pay it given that a LB like Chilwell cost 50 and Villa had to pay 12 for Targett, who I still don't overly rate.

Ait Nouri or Vinagre - I'll take the first one please.

Shouldn't be playing every week & if Jonny wasn't injured and Marcal made of glass then he wouldn't be

Have to play who you have
