West Ham 1-0 Wolves: Verdict Thread

Lage: "It was a good performance. We played the way we wanted.

"We controlled the game with the ball. It was a good performance, but the way we conceded that goal was unbelievable. Also we're playing against a strong team, Fabianski one of the best in the world to stop crosses."

I like you, but don’t start with this rubbish, Bruno.

Bruno says on BBC " We continue to play the same way" Gulp......

Fabianksi one of the best keepers in the world at claiming crosses too apparently. Talking some shite this afternoon.

I’m sorry if that’s the way Bruno wants us to play then things ain’t getting any better soon.
Last few games has shown we’re more with the likes of Southampton, Brighton, Villa etc as opposed to the top 6.

Ha ha ha Bruno ha ha ha, you had me there for a minute.

The width would be Neto and Pod.
Sorry I didn't stick a load of space bar presses between them 😂

Fabio Motm. Showed flashes and worked hard but it's not there yet, best of a bad bunch.

If that’s the blueprint for Bruno then I’d put good money on him not being here by Xmas. That interview is borderline delusional frankly.
If having 1 shot on target all game is how you want play then we’ve got a serious issue in the future.

They ain't wingers in a 4-4-2 at all though.

Lage's post match interview on Sky was gibberish, complete word salad (and it's not a language barrier thing). Haven't got a clue what he was talking about.

Fundamentally we don't play good football under him, this isn't an isolated spell.

sadly this is proving true we’re just morphing into last seasons version of events only difference is we’ve managed to be on the better side of some 1-0 tight games.

The way we have performed since going 1-0 up against Arsenal makes me wonder if we’re actively trying not to qualify for Europe.

Especially given the line up today.

Trincao doesn’t look like he gives a shit in being here or succeeding. I’d rather we packed him back off to Barca and got someone else in who actually cares and wants to try and tackle/do something productive. Been a while since I’ve seen a cowardly performance of that level in a Wolves shirt.

Bruno Lambert can get in the bin if he thinks that's good football and how we should play.

He had such a good January but it seems we have achieved 40 points and he's gone to shit.

This tiptap in our own areas from GK's before handing it long to an isolated frontman is nothing short of 1980's Graham Taylor/ Wimbledon stuff. Bypassing our midfield or asking Neves to come back onto Coady's toes is a criminal use of one of the best midfielders in the league.

I'm glad we didn't buy a big lump up front on the summer and watch this type of football, is fucking rubbish and is bound to get you relegated.

If we play like we did for the last 20 minutes when we went Hasenhuttl's 4-2-2-2 then I wouldn't be unhappy about that. It suited Donk and Neves much better.

Darlo's formation would work for me.

Don't think I ever want to see Marçal, Hoever or Trincao in a Wolves shirt again. Absolute rubbish. Saiss doesn't look anywhere near that player since he's gone back from AFCON so if be letting him go too. Thought Coady and Kilman aired themselves well in a 4. Much better than when they were in a three where they were shite today.

May as well have a go now and try to score some goals.

If Bruno persists with long ball shit then I'd be happy to see him sacked next week. Big March ahead for him.

The Lineup wasn't an issue, probably too soon for Jonny to be in for 90 and Semedo/Hoever was a forced change. I can understand the Dendonker rotating in too given the extra presence he offers against a bigger side.

The issue is the front 3, I had previously believed I saw something in Trincao but he was poor today, I'd not be looking to make that deal permanent on the evidence of what we have seen as fans during games, I like Hwang's work rate but again he has clear limitations, Fabio was actually much better 2nd half when he was allowed to play in and around the area, couple of really good bits of play, movement and quick thinking.

Potentially too early to be starting Neto I imagine but had we started Neto, Fabio, Podence today and then looked to rotate from there I feel we start differently.

It's so disappointing, but we weren't totally awful today (in the wider context of football as a whole), we have lost by a defensive laspe to a side who've gone 5th as a result, this isn't quite losing to Huddersfield. We need to be aiming for 8+ points in the March fixtures though to stay in the hunt for 6th and above I feel.

I can’t come on here and grumble because it’s no more than expected. Our best 11 all on form are a match for anyone but after that the drop off is huge . Add to that that a few of our best eleven are dropping off in their performance and it’s easy to see why a small squad can’t cope with a sustained challenge. We keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. We may be defensively sound with 9 clean sheets but we have failed to score 12 times in the league. That was not addressed in the recent transfer window or in the summer, as this is not a new problem. We have never been a free scoring team in the premier league. Today’s selection is on Bruno but his reasons for selection are on Fosun for totally ducking up two transfer windows and failing to back their man. I still think we are massively over performing with 40 points from 25 goals. That’s also unsustainable in the medium term . If we don’t sort the scoring out we are going to struggle for the rest of this season and into next. We know it’s a huge summer. Fosun have buried their heads this season and got away with it . Next month will show a healthy profit so the parent company will be giving out the plaudits and saying how great their strategy is , no doubt. It’s building a castle on sand in the long run and it’s very frustrating.
If you fo what you’ve always done you will get what you always got . This squad needed three new players if quality for two seasons and has not got them so we are where we are. Fosun are happy at premier league survival with a profit and self sufficiency it seems .

If Bruno's being honest with that, I want him out. Appreciate he's done a remarkable job up to now but this is not what we should aspire to.

We wouldn't threaten my dead grandmother playing as we did today.

Watching a different game to me. I thought we were total shit until we went 4 at the back.

Jesus wept. Match report from Ray Charles would be more accurate
