What's the earliest you've left a match?

Tue, Oct 25, 1983. League Cup Round 2. Preston 1-0 Wolves. We’d lost the home leg 3-2. There were about 20 of us, and when we went 1-0 down we tried to leave after about 40 minutes.

The stewards laughed at us and refused to let us out saying they were going to keep us in for half an hour at the end!

They finally let us out after about 60 mins. From memory we were in the old second division and plummeting to serial relegations.

It was probably about another 3 years before the misery was forgotten.

Southampton when they beat us 6 - 0 at home. Was gutted as we'd played really well but just seemed one of those days so left at half time. That was a mistake as Le Tissier on Sky Sports News was pissing me right off from the moment I walked into the pub.

Only other game I left early was Reading in the cup in 2019, left as Shabani I think it was got injured towards the end of the game. It was my Son's first game and he'd lost all interest by that point.

Brentford in League One, November game and it was the coldest I've ever been. We were in the North Bank miles away from anyone and the kids couldn't stand any more of the cold so we fucked off. Nicked someone's taxi as well, bonus.

The illness story above reminded me I did once have to make use of an actual toilet in a football ground for the first and only time since in my life when I started to feel decidedly dodgy during a first half. I did soldier on though until full time though.

I was sicked on and got 2 free tickets to another game for moaning about it. Was 2 mins in and they left presumably in shame so they would win here

There was one game where I never arrived, being Sunderland (A).
I was about 17, my parents away on holiday and I decided to hitch to the game , starting at about 5am.
Many best forgotten adventures later I arrived in Sunderland city centre at 4.40 exactly, just as the game was finishing at Roker Park.
I crossed the road and began hitching home.
Took me 24 hours to get there and back home. Never saw a ball kicked in the game.
Needless to add we lost 2 - 0.

I left at half time away at Derby in November 2014.

Jesus, that's a sad story.
