Who do you want in goal?

If we’re on about best keepers in the league, Schmeichel is massively underrated but Allison is the best in the league by a margin. He’s got everything. The sort of GK where I always think he’s favourite regardless of the situation and that shouldn’t be the case.
Allison and Ederson head and shoulders the best 2.

Schmeichel can be amazing but he does have some horrible mistakes in him. Certainly improved massively since his days at Coventry and Notts County.

Gordon Banks. If he's not available then stick with Rui. John Ruddy as back up.... :p

We're not talking about criticism and pelters, we're talking about people considering a different GK, like they're considering a different CB for Coady, a different CM to Moutinho or a different forward to Adama. All those players have credit in the bank too.

I have no problem with any of that if people feel they can back it up. I might agree or disagree but it wouldn't 'amaze and sadden' me.

These are issues of football opinion (like with Nuno) that people want to guilt trip others about and make a moral issue out of.
Sorry, probably should have been blunter. The reason is because he's a proven high level performer and winner who hasn't had a nose dive in form as your straw man has it. He's not immune to criticism, but I'm saddened when I hear people (not you) run out clap trap like 'send him back to europe' and propose bringing in inferior replacements. Clear?

Has to be Rui for me. Been poor this season but at his best just below the top keepers but don't see how we get any better. He's not going to come and claim every cross into the box although he does very well when he does come for anything i would say. Agree with what was said earlier that he doesn't come and get balls that are played over the top quick enough but when balls are slid through in to the box he's as quick as any keeper i've seen.

bit like Nick Pope then

See, you rate him and I don't, which is fine. It's just you need to avoid that high diving board (the one marked "England's keeper for the next 10 years") :D

I would still take Pope over Pickford for England.
