Wibble Wobble Wibble Wobble Jelle On A Plane?

I'm quite annoyed about this. Not because he has slated Wolverhampton, but because he looked like a quality footballer whenever I have seen him.

Nevermind, we haven't had a scenario like this in a while. Usually its the other way around and players who we want out of the club want to stay!

Just sell him in January and buy someone who can play football and wants to be here. There are bound to be a few potential targets out there.

Crap, just when it looks like we get decent left back it turns out he can't be bothered to at least try to adjust. Like TSB said, if he doesn't like the city move somewhere nice ffs. What does Mick do, kick him back tot the reserves or play him because he's an improvement on what we've got?

Personally I'd play him and say tara in Jan.

Tell the bastard he's not welcome to train here any more and ask him how much he used to enjoy being an international footballer.

and pay him a fat wedge whilst he is sat at home in Belgium............

Dunno. It was my heart, but not my head. I can't narrow it down more than that.

It's easy to understand how he could feel unsettled with his pregnant wife still back in his homeland, that's totally fair enough.

What I don't like is that he seems pretty clear that he wants out regardless of his wife coming over in the future. To blame the country and area inparticular is pretty pathetic. He's lived here before so knew all about it, he can speak the language and integrate with people and most importantly from a professional POV he's clearly rated by Mick and the fans.

Going public about the situation is also very disrespectful to the club who took a chance, pay his wages and are trying to be helpful and understanding about all this.

Thinking back, the deal took along time to actually happen. I wonder whether he thought about it more than we are giving him credit for, but he just came up with the wrong answer.

McCarthy insisted Van Damme was committed to staying at Molineux but the player himself has told the Belgian press: "The coach (McCarthy) has asked me: 'If you had the choice to return to Anderlecht, would you do it?' I have answered, 'Yes'.

"In January, if we see that things are not possible between Wolverhampton and me, we will remain good friends."

If my memeory is correct the deal took a good 6/7 weeks after specualtion was announced in the media, but I'm sure the delay was over the fee with Van Damme's agent in the media from the start saying that he wanted to join us?

i'd do a deal with him.
if he promises to paly his heart out when picked, then i would seriously offer to sit down with him in january and if he's still not happy, see what can be done re anderlecht.
this is win win for me, if he palys like we know he can it's good for the team, and will also boost his price come january. if he's cack, send him back, for whatever we can get.

i have to add, that i know where he's coming from. when my lady packed it all up out here and went back to blighty, i stayed. ok i've learnt the language, but when the locals have had a bevvy and start talking at their normal speed, i may as well be in china. he has to find something to occupy his time when he's not training or playing, and maybe the squad can help here. tyake him out, pop round his house unexpectedly, invite him over for dinner, or just get him laid. nah joking with the last oen, but if anyone feels the need to assist me with my living alone, stuff dinner invites!
