Winter Olympics

Awesome. Wish he had won the downhill on the Hannenkam but I will happily take the slalom

Just watched the opening ceremony and when TeamGB walked out flying the flag, it was upside down/wrong way round.
You think someone would have checked esp. as they were all wearing clothes with the Union Jack printed correctly.

It annoys me more that the design of the union flag allows it to be flown upside down, it should be symmetrical horizontally and vertically then this would never be an issue.

I have no idea which way is up and getting upset about a flag is weird.
Well I do know which way is up and who said I was upset.

It's a prestigious international event and someone should have checked.

It was certainly worthy of comment and while you think it's weird, there are countries who have threatened war over similar incidents. Obviously I'm not advocating any similar action, but I would like my country's flag flown correctly.

Unless you expect them to come in on a ship then it's the Union Flag, not the Union Jack

We need to agree a set of common forum interests so everyone can stop being weird and talking about things they like.

I reckon supporting Wolves is a good start for a common interest list

You're wrong. That changed years ago. You need to check your facts.

The principal naval distinguishing flag had become the Ensign, so it grew customary to fly the Union Jack only in harbour – and from the 'jackstaff' (a specially rigged staff in the bows). And in 1908 the UK Parliament approved this verdict, stating that 'the Union Jack should be regarded as the National flag'.

The main point is that it was flown upside down at the Winter Olympics Parade of Nations.

I had absolutely no idea that the UK flag wasn't symmetrical. Or that it could be flown "upside down", I guess.

I've been enjoying some of the womans ice hockey, I have very little time for American sports but ice hockey is something else, so fast and unrelenting. Although for a specky twat like myself it's kinda hard to see the puck at times!

Also kudos to the commentators for his use of the word Puck, its quite amusing hearing him saying "get the Puck out of there" with him accentuating the word Puck, child that I am

Try watching an old hockey broadcast from the 90s. Put it on mute and you'll have absolutely no idea what the fuck is going on.

Short track speed skating relays: one of the most chaotic things I've ever seen.
