Wolves 0-0 Fulham: Verdict Thread

As we only have the 3 first team
Fullbacks, it would be madness if we were to rush semedo back. Can’t risk another setback for him.

That being said, when he is up and running I think semedo will be nailed on first choice RB with RAN and Jonny fighting it out for LB

Hope there's nothing wrong with Jonny mentally, I'm holding onto the hope its just a blip in form.
He's my favourite player of the Nuno era and always seemed level headed as well as a terrific fb/wb. I'll be distraught if he leaves or just fades away at a player (hyperbole alert)
Well there have been rumours of a falling out with Lage, which could explain it.

Yeah that's one of my concerns, I know you shouldn't get attached to players and should be more pragmatic about it, just can't help myself, started with Waggy and currently Jonny, Raul, Neves and was Coady. A cynical 63 year old shouldn't be so sentimental.

RAN, Jonny and Semedo were exclusively full backs before they came to Wolves. I agree the former 2 haven't played well, but I don't think it's inexperience of the position. If you look at RAN's 2 major mistakes, they aren’t because he was at left back rather than LWB, they were just over confidence/stupidity. With Jonny it's something else.
Hopefully that proves correct re RAN , although he'll come up against much greater pressure you'd have to think against better teams . The Jonny issue could be related to the back end of last season where his form just tailed off and there was talk that he had heated words with Lage at one stage .

Can't see it, no pre season and broke down when he came back too early last time. 60 mins against Preston would be my bet
Would agree with that . Hamstrings need careful rehab .

I hope the latter isn't the case. I know the instinct is to suspect Lage and back Jonny in these instances, but none of us are privy to the detail of any behind the scenes arguments, and tbh I'm not sure heated words are necessarily that unusual or a bad thing anyway, as long as there's a reason and a resolution?

For all we know a few players got some home truths and maybe Bruno got some back. I'd say that's healthy and needed with a group of comfy players wedded to a previous manager and style.

I can't imagine there are many days when analysing the the last game that there aren't heated exchanges between players themselves, and the manager too.

If you fall out with a manager, you should still give your all IMO.

The drop off seems to much for that IMO. That being said, it is common practice for players to fall off a cliff if they fall out with management. Never quite got it myself

I'd imagine the colossal damage, multiple operations and massive length out of the game has more to do with his drop off than a training ground tiff

I’ve said this, also a change to full back from wing back may of had an affect.

All speculation Ofcourse, but that’s all we can do

If that is the case then he must have played the first 2/3 games back on adrenaline then, because in those he was as good as ever
He even bagged a few goals for himself back then . All was well then it seemed .
